The 5 Biggest Lies Conservative “Christians” Tell About Themselves

While I disagree with Republicans on most things, I will admit that they damn sure know how to play people for fools. One of the most brilliant moves they ever made was realizing that if they could somehow get people to mix their religion in with their politics, they could get tens of millions of people to believe damn near anything – and it worked. For the most part, conservatives view their religion and their politics as one in the same. To them, being a Republican is every bit as important as being a Christian and vice versa.

But there’s just one problem: The Republican party doesn’t represent true Christian values – not even close.

In fact, I thought I’d list 5 of the biggest lies these conservative “Christians” often tell about themselves.

1. They support freedom: This one has always confounded me a bit. You can’t say you want a nation built on both freedom and religion – that doesn’t make any sense. Seeing as religion by its very nature is predicated upon rules and control, you can’t logically claim to be the “party for freedom and liberty” while also trying to base large portions of your political ideology on religious principles that literally millions of people don’t share.

2. They’re pro-life: For some reason these people have equated opposing abortion to being “pro-life.” Here’s my rule: When you’re constantly pushing for more war, while supporting the death penalty and often vilifying the poor and needy, you lose all right to call yourselves “pro-life.”

3. They care about the poor and income inequality: This one might be my favorite. Republicans are constantly trying to gut programs that help the most needy among us, while simultaneously painting them as “lazy moochers,” while also opposing raising the minimum wage – yet they’re unapologetic about their support for massive tax breaks for the richest among us. They’re literally trying to convince us that the “solution” to income inequality is more of the same policies that caused it to begin with. And what are those polices? The ones that make the rich even richer at the expense of everyone else.

4. They respect religious freedom: This is one of the biggest lies there is. Sure, they want Christians (or at least their brand of Christianity) to have unlimited ability to say and do whatever they want. But that’s where their love for “religious freedom” stops. When it comes to any other religions, or those who choose to follow no religion, that’s when many of these people typically lose it. While these so-called “religious freedom” advocates want the ability for a Christian-owned business to be able to deny service to homosexuals, could you imagine if some businesses began denying service to Christians? Many of these same “religious freedom” folks would absolutely lose their minds.

5. They’re Christians: I thought I’d save the best for last. The fact that many of these people call themselves Christians to begin with is comical. Jesus Christ, whether you believe he was real or not, symbolizes love, acceptance, tolerance, hope, generosity and compassion – which is pretty much the antithesis to what the Republican party represents. Forgive me if I have trouble envisioning Jesus Christ as someone who’d be a gun-loving, anti-immigrant, poor hating advocate for unregulated capitalism and greed, who felt it was acceptable to judge and discriminate against homosexuals. You know, your typical conservative.

Well, there are my “top 5,” though there are clearly more. Feel free to hit me up on Twitter or Facebook and let me know what you think.

    Very nicely done.

  • Jillz

Excellent observations, and spot on too!

About #2 though – they are not “pro life”, they are “pro forced birth”. There is a difference. I will not refer to these people who glorify suffering and death as “pro life” any longer.

    • josephsinger

They are pro-womb. As soon as you are born they tell you that you are on your own and God bless.

      • wakeup32176

Spot on! Once you’re out of the womb; you are a moocher and a burden …

    • ShibumiMC

They are anti-women’s rights. Pro effing nothing.

  • Matt Haynes

    Awesome!!

  • Teresa Boshell Terry

THERE IS A DIFFERENCE FROM FEEDING THE HUNGRY AND HELPING THE POOR THAN TAKING CARE OF PEOPLE WHO ARE JUST TO SORRY TO WORK FOR A LIVING AND WANT TO LIVE OFF THE GOVERNMENT

    • Chiennoir

And who gets to judge which hungry children are “poor enough” or “working hard” enough to get help? You? Walk the walk, lady. It’s what Jesus would do.

      • Barry52

You’re as ignorant as the guy that wrote the article. Want to know what the Lord Jesus said about people that won’t work?

      • Chiennoir

Gotcha. So little children should have to work for their food. Alternative Jesus would be so proud.

      • Barry52

See how Liberals twist what other people say? Children are taken care of by other members of the family in today’s time when their parents are too sorry to work and would rather lay around and play video games. Same then. But don’t worry. The Liberal/Socialist mindset has set in and told people if they didn’t want to work, don’t worry about it. We’ll bring in ILLEGAL ALIENS to do the work you think you are too good for and give you EBT cards.

      • Chiennoir

Wow, that’s a lot of Breitbart bullshit talking points squeezed into one paragraph. Well parroted!

      • Barry52

No, it’s called fact. Sorry you can’t tell the difference.

      • Chiennoir

Sorry, cupcake. Bullshit doesn’t become fact just because Breitbart told you you like it.

      • Darcy J. DeRocker

Name your “FACT” sources you ignorant a$$hole!

      • Sonine Beaumont

Polly gets a cracker for that b.s!! How cruel these Breitbart fools are!

      • Elena Randleas

Jesus said feed the poor not take from the poor

      • Barry52

Liberals take from the poor all the time. What YOU call poor is the sorry a** individuals that don’t want to work so you lump them in with the legitimately poor and disabled.

      • ReBecca Gozion

what planet dyu fckng live on>?

      • Darcy J. DeRocker

OMG! You are unbelievably ignorant! Would you like to give STATS to how many people are screwing the system compared to how many people actually need the system? The screwers are a very small percentage – just a tiny drop in the bucket – compared to those who absolutely need the system. And where, exactly are these people supposed to work? The unemployment rate is based on those who are not in the system. If you were to add those who are receiving assistance for disability (which, by the way, if they ever had a job – they are entitled to since they paid into it) or other factors – the unemployment rate would sky rocket. Try getting a person who is not legally considered Developmentally Disabled a job – but borders on that level – try doing that. It is close to impossible. These are the people who others call “Welfare Queens”. You have absolutely no flipping idea what you are talking about. What you have is a Selfish/Greedy/Bastard mind set. Instead of bitching – give somebody of a lower standard a job.

      • Lindley Karstens

Okay. Maybe… just making stuff up… but maybe – you have someone in your life who resembles this problem?

      • Elena Randleas

No it does not paul was talking to. the pastor

the leaders of the church that where taken money from the poor.

      • Barry52

Paul was talking to the welfare cheats of his time.

2Thessalonians 3:11 For we hear that there are some which walk among you disorderly, working not at all, but are busybodies.

      • Queen Alice

But go back to the part where they shared everything . . .churches of today would rather swallow a stone than do that. #americanchurchfail

      • Barry52

Yes but like I said, we HAVE organizations that help to take care of the TRULY poor and needy today. But, I will agree with you that SOME churches of today wouldn’t lift a finger much less write a check to help someone. Luckily, not ALL are like that though because I myself have benefited from some Godly churches. And, I have donated to some worthy causes. Admittedly, not as many as I should.

      • Linda Allen Yearout

Newsflash: Don’t you pray and ASK God for things everyday? Sometimes His answer is yes, but sometimes His answer is no. So it is with some of our so called “dead beat” relatives. Sometimes when they ask us for things, or money, we help them out. But, sometimes, when they ask for help on things they need to work for and pay for themselves, we tell them no. Aren’t there limits on how long one can draw welfare? The age old problem in America is that many hard working folks don’t make a living wage, or they do ok until they have an emergency like a broken car, or the furnace goes out in their house, or they become ill, or lose their job. I’m thankful our country has some safety nets. I do not begrudge them. Sorry if that is too liberal for some of you. Even Jesus said the poor will always be among us. And, predators that hurt the poor will always be among us, too.

      • Barry52

The REAL problem is that society has made it more profitable to be on welfare than to work.

      • ReBecca Gozion

that is such fckng bullshit. you’re so fckng ignorant.

      • Darcy J. DeRocker

Try living off of a check for a month idiot – try it. Do it for a year. You don’t live – you exist. Get your head out of your ass!

      • Barry52

Another stupid Liberal. A single mother with five kids can live comfortably all the while complaining the government doesn’t pay her enough. Sick of pathetic idiots like you.

      • jetames

Barry – seems that you will say anything and then back it up with your non-existent jesus buddy and your bible. If you are depending on the KJ bible to justify your hatred and ignorance, please remember that your KJ bible was written in 1611, by 8 members of the Church of England with the express purpose of pleasing King James and members of Parliament. Your bible has no more validity than a comic book.

      • Barry52

Your opinion. And you are extremely stupid when it comes to the KJV.

      • Lindley Karstens

I rather like the New American Standard translation

      • jetames

Barry boy if I said something stupid, please correct me. OOps, you can’t!

      • Sonine Beaumont

Jesus didn’t say that. That was a desciple instructing those who were with him spreading the gospel as strangers in Thessalonia. However it was to be demonstrative of sacrife, not as punishment for inability to be physically productive. Christianity is encouraging of interdependency.

      • Sonine Beaumont

        Sacrifice not sacrife…

      • Lindley Karstens

        Agree… also, disciple. 😉

      • Queen Alice

Actually Jesus didn’t say that. 2 Thess 3:10 was written for the founding of the new church. The one who early believers gave everything to, and to whom was given back “as they needed”. You know, eeeeekkkkk, communism. LOL. At least get your facts correct.

      • Barry52

Well, yes, Jesus the Christ, DID say that through the Apostle Paul. Paul didn’t preach anything unless the Holy Spirit revealed it to him So, are we to believe that the CHURCH was to get rid of lazy members, but it was all right in society? See, YOUR facts are watered down Liberal facts. Even better, look up what the Word of God says about sloth.

Communism? Not even close. The CHURCH was to take care of each other, and it has came down through the ages to today with ONE exception. Today, there is Social Security, which is NOT socialism. I thought I’d get that out of the way. And also many charities and beneficial organizations that help the TRULY poor and needy. Not that the church should quit helping out members that need it but not on the scale as was then. And what happened to Ananias and Sapphira? I suggest you look it up. Is THAT eeeeeeeeeek! the Communism YOU want?

      • Lindley Karstens

Precisely Mr. 52… those who are “able”.

      • Sonine Beaumont

Yes! Walk the walk! ” just to sorry” you would deny basic needs of food, shelter, clothing, medical to any of the least of these.

    • Ruth Burke

That’s exactly what the Politicians want you to think….
They want to help themselves by spending less $ on everyone else while funding their own enterprises and agendas that make and keep them Rich. They don’t even pretend to care about people any more…

      • Barry52

        Yeah, reminds me of Hillary.

      • Reuben

Yes Hilary sucked. Trump also sucks. The problem is that you have a whole lot of things backwards in your head Barry. You think you know the Bible but you actually only know bits and pieces. You think you understand economics but only spout what you hear from Breitbart and Limbaugh. You think you know how businesses work but have only worked for them here and there. You think you know what it’s like to be on welfare but have never had to be on it. You spout a whole lot that you are completely ignorant of as if it’s fact but have nothing but your imagination to back it up. Prove me wrong, I dare you.

Lets start with the Bible. What’s the 4th commandment and why is it no longer followed? What is God’s attitude towards your brother’s sonless widow? What did Jesus say to the rich man that wanted to know how to follow him?

Next, economics. Lets make this one easy. Who creates jobs, business owners or consumers?

Since those will mostly cause your head to explode I will stop there and see how you do.

      • Barry52

I know enough about the Bible to know that Liberals are completely clueless about it. Economics? I also know enough about economics to know that Obama made a mess of it. And, don’t blame Bush because if you were intellectually responsible, you would know that that the housing crisis traces all the way back to the Carter years with democrats like Barney Frank DEMANDING that poor minorities, AND whites, should be able to purchase the same houses that the middle upper class could barely afford.

Welfare? lol Shows how much YOU know, about me which is very little. I was on welfare a few years and absolutely HATED it and was embarrassed about it. Now, I’m not and feel MUCH better about myself. So when you THINK you know me, you DON’T. So, I just proved you wrong. Which by the way, was TOO EASY! lol

What about the 4th Commandment? You are a Seventh Day Adventists? Why do you follow Ellen G. White instead of the Word of God? You are dismissed on the Bible question.

Who creates jobs? Well, the POTUS does NOT but he helps creates the atmosphere that either creates jobs or, like Obama, destroys them. THEN, after a good business atmosphere is established, business owners feel good about their bottom line and then, THEY actually CREATE the jobs.

Now, my head is still on my shoulders. Yours on the other hand, is probably all over the room. lol Nice try though.

      • Reuben

I see a whole lot of wrong answers there, where you did answer. Most of it is just beating around the bush saying you have no clue. Constantine changed the Sabbath in hopes to convert more heathens. The 4th commandment specifically says what day to go to church. Nowhere in the Bible is it actually changed. A commandment is a commandment and not open to interpretation. You break one you might as well break them all.
Next answer: Deuteronomy 25:5 “If brothers are living together and one of them dies without a son, his widow must not marry outside the family. Her husband’s brother shall take her and marry her and fulfill the duty of a brother-in-law to her.” Interesting huh?
Next easy one even if you only read the New Testament: Jesus said to the rich man “Go, sell what you have, and give to the poor and you will have treasure in heaven; then come, follow me.”
        (Mark 10:21)

Next: Consumers with money create jobs. No money, no demand, no businesses. That simple.

Most people on welfare hate being on welfare, just like you did. They would rather have a job and be able to provide for themselves. If the jobs are there the welfare rolls decrease. That is a well documented statistic. If people were just lazy, as you claim, the results would be opposite.

Jesus himself was a liberal. He gave away free healthcare, care for the poor regardless of who they were, preached against the accumulation of wealth, advocated paying your taxes, and was against the death penalty and war, among a whole lot of other liberal ideas. But then he was also a Jew. Actually read the Bible and compare what he preached to what liberals preach and you will find more than a few similarities.

As for denomination, I am not an Adventist. Which church I go to is completely unimportant to the issue. The answers are in the book you supposedly follow but know little about. Read the whole thing, not just bits and pieces, digest it all, and you will see how wrong you actually are.
Read Matthew 5:17-19; Luke 4:16; 23:55-56; Acts 17:1-2; 18:4; Hebrews 4:9; 1 John 2:6. Jesus himself observed the Jewish Sabbath. Aren’t you supposed to follow his example?

I am willing to discuss things like humans but you better bring proof because I will.

      • Barry52

Constantine? lol And the 7th Day Adventists pretty much worship the 4th Commandment so I had the right answer. You just have a different one. Nowhere is it changed? Are you sure? Plus, are you a Hebraic Jew? Because that is who the 10 Commandments were originally written for. In the New Testament, Jesus the Christ broke it down into Two Commandments.

Matthew 22:35 Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying

Matthew 22:36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law?

Matthew 22:37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

Matthew 22:38 This is the first and great commandment.

Matthew 22:39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

Matthew 22:40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

Now, when was the day changed? Constantine had nothing to do with it. Constantine also believed in evolution, in a kinda sorta way.

Acts 20:7 And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight.

What is the first day of the week? Sunday. Plus, days doesn’t matter any more since Jesus the Christ became our True Sabbath.

Deuteronomy 25:5? Not sure why you threw that in there.

Yes, Jesus did say that to the rich man. The rich man put his earthly treasure before the heavenly treasure that Salvation offers. Like the disciples, you say then who can be saved? Jesus said that with men things are impossible but with God, all things are possible. So, the rich DO go to heaven. Unless you think every rich person is a lost sinner.

Next, you say, “Next: Consumers with money create jobs. No money, no demand, no businesses. That simple.”

Really? How do consumers get money? Through their jobs. How are jobs created? Through businesses. It’s that simple.

Lots of people ARE lazy. You deny this? Small businesses are going belly up every day because of taxes and regulations. You can argue that all day long but that is my last word on that point.

Jesus was the farthest thing from a Liberal that you can get. You also forget, Jesus the Christ was God Almighty made flesh and walked among sinful man. I despise people who try to bring Him down to the human level. Free healthcare? Is man God? Can man touch a leper and make him clean? Can a man make a paste with his spittle and make the blind to see? You’re ignorant.

He did NOT preach against the accumulation of wealth. He spoke against the corrupt USE of wealth. Many of His and His disciples benefactors wealthy. His Uncle, Joseph of Arimathea was a wealthy man. It is you Liberals who claim that Jesus the Christ was Liberal because like everything else, you want to claim that YOU have the moral high ground over Conservatives.

Taxes? Are you saying Conservatives don’t pay taxes? lol What a moron.

He was NOT against the death penalty at all. NOWHERE will you find that in scripture. He was against war? Then why did He tell the soldiers to be content with their wages? Why did the Centurion come to Him to heal his daughter, and realized what a leader that Christ was? Jesus healed the Centurions daughter but he did NOT say anything about his profession.

Read the Bible without Liberal blinders and you will find a whole different Christ than what YOU are preaching and you will see how wrong YOU are.

Jesus the Christ observed the Jewish Sabbath because He came to fulfill the law, which the Jews and the rest of the world, COULD NOT DO. The Sabbath law was ceremonial in nature and was done away with on the cross.

        Colossians 2:16-17
        Galatians 4:10-11
        Romans 14:5

I am willing to discuss things like humans but you better bring proof because I will.

      • Tina Chiappelli

You speak the word and Quote the word But you don’t live it, or you would be talking about Christs compassion and love , The commandments were and ARE for all of us, But if YOU would be “comfortable” Telling all of that to our Lord, when you stand before him, then, Please do, I for one would rather err on the compassion, giving , loving side.

      • Barry52

And yet you judge me by saying I don’t live it. See how that works? Christ’s compassion and love goes to those who follow His Word, NOT to those who trample it and use it for their own agenda.. I’m sorry but if you can’t see that then I suggest you read more and judge less. In other words, get the log out of your eye and you will see clearly to remove the speck from someone else’s.

      • ReBecca Gozion

        not against the death penalty>?
perhaps you choose to interpret the stoning of the adulteress in your own ignorant & perverted way.

i agree with the “only two commandments”, finally, & there were never ever only the 10…

how go read leviticus, & tell me why certain ones are bandied about, while the rest are ignored.

        you proved nothing about anything.

      • Maddnezz

So you’ve traded welfare for pride. You went from being a moocher to being prideful and vainglorious.

You think you’re the only person who is or has been on welfare and hated/hates it? You think you’re the only person who has ever gotten off of welfare? You’re judging that everyone else on welfare is just mooching, but you weren’t, you actually needed it of course.

I would tell you to think about what all that means against what your Bible tells you, but I know you won’t because most of you “Christians” don’t care what the Bible says unless it’s establishing a narrative that makes you feel superior.

      • Barry52

        lol How stupid.

      • ReBecca Gozion

indeed. what a waste of breath it always is.

      • ReBecca Gozion

        you proved absolutely nothing!
“i was on welfare a few years and absolutely HATED it and was embarrassed about it. Now, I’m not and feel MUCH better about myself.”
oh….but others are lazy fckng dogs, & prefer to lie about & collect that tiny check forever, huh>?
“judge not, lest ye be judged”
        better yet,
“let he who is without sin cast the first stone”

      • Queen Alice

        I think I love you . . . . .

      • ReBecca Gozion

it shall all simply go in one ear & out the other…the truth is frightening, isnt it>? i dont know why i waste a moment on such people…”written over a period of 4000—8000 years”….oh please.

      • Darcy J. DeRocker

Hillary lost – when are YOU going to get over her?

      • Cynthia Paden

Big business is taking your money and big business now owns the country! What little you have left will be in their pockets soon. They put the blame on the people who big business has already made poor so you will not realize that it is not the poor, but big business that is robbing the working people.

    • Tina Chiappelli

So you just bag up all the less fortunate , the sick, the widowed the children, and those in real need with those who abuse the system, and then STAND BEFORE GOD and tell him your reason???????WOW

      • Elena Randleas

Ypu really will pay for this when Jesus 2sd coming when he will ask you did you feed my children .

      • Elena Randleas

Did you cloth the poor. What will you answer Jesus no Lord bc they where moocher. Lazy . Wwjd. He said get behind me you workers of lawlessness I never knew you .

      • Barry52

I’m pretty sure you are hysterically misunderstanding the statement, like all Liberals do.

      • Darcy J. DeRocker

“And the second commandment is like the first – love your neighbor as yourself”.
Again with the hatred – “all Liberals”. You have lumped a group of people together because you don’t agree with some of them. Do you know ALL LIBERALS? You are a guy who must get around if you do. Statements like that PROVE YOUR IGNORANCE.

    • Andrew Urg

How do you know that they are too sorry to work? Because Faux said so? Did Drumpf said so? What are you going to do with the hungry children? Well your parents are too sorry to work so you are going to die of hunger.

      • Elena Randleas

This people want to live like Cuba eating drinking exile the poor children look thru fancy faces with starving faces

      • Barry52

So, there are no lazy people in the country? What a idiotic notion. lol There are plenty of children that go hungy every day because their sorry a s s parents are strung out on drugs. You better get a grip on reality.

    • jetames

Your false statement above reminded of the old saying that when Fascism comes to America, it will be wrapped in an American flag and will be caring a cross.

    • Lindley Karstens

So we’re saying that all those paraplegics, vets with PTSD, seniors with Alzheimers, and children born with spina bifida are just too sorry to work for a living, and enjoy depending on the government and charity for survival? Silly moochers. Theresa – given your implied values, I’m sure that you tithe your 10% to the church so they can help the needy, and you volunteer on Saturdays to staff soup kitchens, community gardens, and the food bank. Good for you!

  • Stanley Vorce

Kindly refer to them as regressives and definitely not conservative. They conserve nothing of value except more money for the rich & huge corporations. They want to regress back to the 1920’s plutocracy.

    • Matt

You are right: There is no such thing as conservative. They can’t define it and there is nothing conservative about giving billions to the super rich while forcing the elderly and poor children to starve while spending trillions on evil wars putting the taxpayers 20 trillion dollars in debt while deregulating wall street and the banks. It is Satan’s party.

      • wakeup32176

The left is progressive, the opposite of that is regressive, nuf said…

    • ShibumiMC

Politically, they are reactionaries. Don’t understand why no yanks seem to understand that.

  • James the vet

war? Hillary enthusiasticly voted for the iraq war. Obama pushed hard for us to get into syriaq against almost everybodys wishes. Religious freedom? How about i take away your right to decline to participate in something you think is wrong how would you like it if i shut down your business if you declined to host an NRA meeting. Should vegan resturaunt s be forced to serve beef? The poor? Your progressive policies have created a permanent underclass class dependent on welfare and criminal by culture. Thats what happens when you take away the nessesity to grow up and self actualize. Thats just how human nature works. Seattle enacted a 15 dollar minimum wage and people are already getting layed off. Labor is a small businesses biggest overhead expense. 15 dollars an hour would be great if you arent the one who gets fired. Freedom? You are attacking the first amendment on every front. You classify dissagreement with any religion lifestyle or ideolagy that you happen to like as hatespeech that must be squashed while not giving any such consideration to the things others believe in. Your politicians crush whistleblowers, lie and graft. You see no problem with lying about conservatives and christians because you ascribe to the belief that the ends justify the means and no coersion criminality or hipocracy is off the table in pursuit of those ends.

Seattle enacted a 15 dollar minimum wage and people are already getting layed off. Labor is a small businesses biggest overhead expense. 15 dollars an hour would be great if you arent the one who gets fired In other words if you cant work for a dollar, work for 60 50 40 cents, right?

      • Andrew Urg

Why don’t we just bring back slavery? Why do you care if someone works day after day and still can’t make ends meet? So lets go back to free room and board and beatings if you mouth off or you can’t keep up with your quota. What about Carrier? They folks got laid off and they didn’t enact a $15.00 an hour wage. Or what about the many being laid off at Sears and Penny’s? You Deplorables are just as simplistic as the thing you are hanging your hopes on. And when will he bring his businesses back to US or is he unable to pay 15 bucks an hour?

      • PizzPooR

I agree completely Andrew. You missed the sarcasm in my response to JamestheVet’s uninformed rant. A person willing to work ANY job, ANYWHERE, is entitled to a living wage for their work. Otherwise Jamethevet doesnt realize that he IS going to make up that difference. And Seattle is doing just fine, thank you, with their wage law. Any layoffs that do happen would have happened if they were making 7.25 per hour.

    • Karen Swan

You have several of your “facts” wrong. I’m sure you don’t want to be wrong. Do some homework.

    • Matt

Dingleberry: you have demonstrated that the propaganda machine is working on the dimwitted. You are flat wrong about $15 min. Wage in Seattle. This is from Forbes:”Between January and December of 2014, while Seatac’s business owners
(and their customers) were absorbing the cost of paying minimum wage
employees $15, unemployment decreased 17.46%, falling from 6.3% to 5.2%.
It turns out that you CAN increase the minimum wage (even in large
increments) and increase overall employment at the same time.”

Jobs were created and unemployment went down…ASSHOLE.

You POS phony right wing Christians and your pseudo religious right wing republican party are destroying America. I hope you get hit by a car. Really….

      • Joseph Guidry

And by calling names you are discriminating.

      • Matthew Bassett

Thanks: and she is being a typical conservative hypocrite. Her name calling is typical of a 4 year old.

      • Matt

Very Stupid, you grow up and be a man. You are now in the two year old range of stupidity. Give up your con. Your Russian handers will be disappointed in your lame propaganda. Maybe you are just trying to suck your own pickle. But don’t try. Trump will just fire you anyway.

      • Mary Smart

Hoping someone gets hit by a car, REALLY? That’s a psycho and a five year olds comment.

      • Matthew Bassett

“Mary” I checked your profile. You are not Mary Smart, you are Very Stupid. You fake, phony, asshole imposter poster come her to defend Trumpoles are part of the Russian propagandist that The TRump crime family and Putin supports. Screw you. Not really.

      • Mary Smart

Sorry I was wrong it’s a three year olds response!
AND A SUPER PSYCHO! Grow up and be a man!

    • Darcy J. DeRocker

James the Vet – your hate is oozing off the screen. You are a very angry person. You have no idea what you are talking about in most of the things you are saying, which only proves you have been indoctrinated with lies and YOU have made the choice not to think critically and search out answers for yourself. You need to read your Bible again – several times over – because it obviously has not taken hold. Your very attitude demonstrates you do not have the heart of Christ.

  • Barry52

This article is saying that Liberals are heathens. You DO know that don’t you? It bashes conservative Christians.

    1. The first is the false assertion that Freedom and Religion can’t co-exist. THAT is a lie because the Lord Jesus Himself said, and I quote…

John 8:36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

The man who wrote this false article says that “religion” has rules so therefore you can’t be free. Ridiculous. Plus, Christianity is NOT a religion which is what the verse says. It is all about the Son setting us free.

    2. Now, we have the man confusing being Pro-Life and realizing that sometimes, war is the only answer. I am anti-murder,,er..I mean anti-abortion. Or, being FOR the death penalty. This is just more twisted Liberal logic.

    3. Conservatives DO care about the poor. Why do you think we pay taxes? The only problem is the taxes are being used to support people who are allergic to work and also keeping up ILLEGAL ALIENS. Christians give WAYY more to charities than the secular atheists and agnostics do.

    4. We DO respect religious freedom. This guy is flat out STUPID. We do NOT respect the ideology of DEATH that Islam calls for.

    5. And the article saved the best for last, he says,.lol He means he saved the proof of how stupid he really is for last. He says that Jesus Christ represents love, acceptance, tolerance, hope, generosity and compassion. So do Christians. What THIS guy is twisting is

First, he mocked the idea that Jesus Christ would be pro-guns. Well, He was pro-sword. Because He said, ” “But now, whoever has a money-bag should take it, and also a traveling bag. And whoever doesn’t have a sword should sell his robe and buy one.” (Luke 22:36) Some say this only means the Spiritual sense, that the word “sword” means the Word of God. Well, He said to SELL you garment and BUY a sword. The sword was the gun of the day so He meant he expected people to protect themselves.

Was Christ anti-immigrant? It really doesn’t say but it DOES talk about the “stranger” in the Old Testament. The “stranger” was nations OTHER than Israel and Israel DID take them in with stipulations. They had to deny their “religion” and ASSIMILATE into Israel’s culture. So, this tells me that Christ was probably NOT anti-immigrant but He expected them to come in LEGALLY.

Jesus did NOT hate the poor and neither do conservative Christians. This guy writing this article seems to think that wealth distribution is the only answer. Capitalism is the best system in the world but it is NOT perfect because of the greed it builds but not EVERY conservative is greedy. If you want socialism, move to a socialist country. It’s that simple.

Homosexuality is an abomination. The first chapter of Romans and the book of Jude, plus many instances in the New Testament, is PLAIN on that. They are ALREADY judged and they have judged THEMSELVES.

    • Elena Randleas

N [ooooo you the stupid one bc Jesus said feed the poor he did not said judge the poor and let along children’s. You are totally wrong you are a false christian.

      • Elena Randleas

They have not judge themselves we all going to be judge by jesus and the 24 judges all humans that have lived here on earth hand picked by jesus . All the earth will be judge and kill on armagedon war of God. Those who have the mark of the beast right now the beast it’s Trump revelation 13:5 he’ll be wounded then pence will be president the 2 beast he will put the mark of the beast on you and false religion will be destroy . Then the Christian pressecution . War of Armageddon 2sd coming of Jesus those marked are judge and kill by Angels of war . Then the resuraction of those sleeping in dead judge by 24 judges . The new earth the new havens the Millennium of the christ then 1000 years pass the kingdom will be given back to God to rule once again as in the begining all in revelation this are the true christians living forever . A great multitude that co.e out of Armageddon survived

      • Barry52

You think Trump is the beast??lol What a moron. If anybody was the beast it was Obama because the whole world whored after him. No, the beast is satan himself. He’s not going to let some little frail human take his glory.

      • Reuben

You are a moron Barry if you don’t realize that Jesus himself was a liberal. He fed the poor, gave away free healthcare, advocated paying your taxes, was against the accumulation of wealth, supported the separation of church and state, and was against the death penalty and war. But then he was also a Jew.

      • Queen Alice

Then you truly don’t understand what we are up against with our adversary. He is wily and will lead many down the primrose path of self righteousness – which ends in being cast out of the love of God. If you cannot love your brother, whom you HAVE SEEN, how can you love God, whom you HAVE NOT?

      • Barry52

Cry me a river of Liberal tears. Sickening.

      • Barry52

You are an ignorant individual. What do you think the welfare system is for? It IS for helping the poor and TRULY needy. So, we as a country DO feed the poor but we also feed the people that are too sorry to get a job and soak up SS benefits that are meant for the truly disabled. Learn the difference before you shoot off your mouth.

      • Queen Alice

So who determines the truly needy? You? Others like you? I would l rather give money, etc, to someone scamming the system than allow even one person who needs it to be forgotten. That’s the sad part of people like you Barry52. First, you are a troll and secondly, you don’t understand Jesus’ basic commandments. Love thy neighbor as thyself, and love God with all our hearts. He was very clear on that and the Word is also. Again, I’d rather err on the side of loving than on judging. Which is God’s business anyway. People who fancy themselves christians and who go about judging and condemning are going to be in for a big surprise when those they judged lacking are ushered into the Kingdom, and “you yourselves are thrown out”. God knows our HEARTS and our INTENTS. Good news for many, but very bad news for many others.

    • Matt

Barry: you are dumber than a bag of hammers. Your anti American rhetoric makes me want to puke down your throat. Religion and government freedom will never co-exist as we have the 1st Amendment. We Americans got the Fuck out of England because of forced religion indoctrination (Church o England). Dumbshit reds, hillbilly and rednecks, one issue voters and the no-infomation voters like you are destroying America.

      • Barry52

Another Liberal cockroach crawls out of its nest. The 1st Amendment explicitly states that GOVERNMENT has NO RIGHT sticking its nose in religion. You Liberal maggots will never understand that. You dumbass, we fled England because the Church and STATE existed together to suppress the religion. THAT is why the constitution says that GOVERNMENT CANNOT establish NOR infringe upon religion. You sick pathetic Liberals have come close to destroying America by your love of perversion like allowing gays to marry, killing unborn children, allowing any third world terrorist into this country, invading time honored institutes like the Boy Scouts of America to allow homosexual, queers in the army. At least the transvestites have been kicked out. Go crawl back under your rock.

      • ReBecca Gozion

aaaaaaaaahahahaha….it would be funny if you werent so fckng disgusting…oh wait…never mind, i pity you, rather than find you disgusting.
“let he who is without sin cast the first stone”

      • ReBecca Gozion

& “transvestites” have not been kicked out of the army, nor shall they be.

    • ReBecca Gozion

you’re another brainwashed imbecile….who does NOT know the bible…& perhaps you need to reread the story of the good samaritan, & the stoning of the adulteress. geeeeeezus, you people.

    .

I’m pretty well convinced the religio-political monstrosity that is now the Republican party is the “great apostasy” Paul wrote about in 2nd Thessalonians.

The reason it has been able to sneak in somewhat undetected is that it does not outwardly represent itself as a religion. Nevertheless, that’s what it is: A belief system that demands fealty from its adherents, with many anti-Christian principles.

I remember when Geo Bush said (during his first campaign run) that he “would out-god” any opposing candidates. And here, all this time, you thought he was just a dumb ass, military service dodging, coke-snorting, drunkerd dunkoff.

  • David Smith

First, not all conservative Christians are Republicans.
#1: Don’t these comments apply to any group or classification of people?
#2: Pro life is a political moniker. Anti-abortion is probably more accurate.
#3: You can still love and care for the poor and not support the Left/Progressive programs. There ARE other ways to help the poor, and different approaches to improving/changing their lives.
#4 and #5: Christians are Christ followers who will always fall short of Christ who was sinless. Christ commands us to love everyone and hate sin. Christians are commissioned to share the Gospel (good news) to the world, realizing that free will exists in all.

  • Ronnie Plasencia

Spoken like a true doesn’t-have-a-clue liberal. So much bs included here I don’t know where to start. But then, I’m not much inclined to dole out reason to someone whose glasses are tinted black.

  • Joseph Guidry

Can I believe the God of the Bible? Can you call me an idiot for doing so? Can I do as the Bible says and refuse to interact with you? Can I say that there is no forgiveness for those that blaspheme the Holy Spirit, no not in his world, nor in the world to come? Can I say that if you do not want Jesus to rule and reign over you that believers will round you up at his coming and slay you before before him because of your blaspheme? If you think I am wrong and you call me a name you are discriminating. You think I should compromise, maybe not say negative things, not warn you, … uh compromise is not a good word, unless it pertains to evil. To ask good to compromise is like sabotaging the engines of your plane cause they are running good and some other planes engines are running bad.

    • Joseph Guidry

Those that cannot receive forgiveness will not be forgiven.

  • fl6stringer

This is so hilariously full of shiz. Nothing has provided a greater environment for poverty, welfare, inequality, religious intolerance (unless you’re Muslim) and racism, oppressive government and threats against freedom to thrive than progressive agendas. It is so easy to see through this. Create all of the problems. Then spin those problems to try and convince the broken and emotional voters that it was all their political opponents’ doing. Also, when will the right people realize that there is a mountain of historical proof everywhere, even in the Library of Congress, proving that this nation was founded with roots of Christianity intended to birth and further America? It is in the blood of this nation’s existence, guys.

  • Lindley Karstens

These days I pity Christians who don’t advocate the current predominant ‘conservative’ platform.
