I don’t always agree with everything Bill Maher says, but I have grown to appreciate him more as he’s never been afraid to be blunt, honest (brutally sometimes) and even call out liberals when he feels they’re acting foolish. I respect anyone who, while clearly partisan, isn’t afraid to take on “their side” when they see something with which they disagree.
But I usually make sure I catch Maher every Friday night because I know he’ll be completely honest concerning his opinion on any particular issue. I also enjoy his show format with a panel and seemingly open forum for guests to say whatever they want.
Well, on Friday night Maher took aim at this image many Donald Trump supporters seem to have about him that he’s a “tough guy” and very “masculine.”
“Tell me what is masculine about Donald Trump,” Maher asked. “I don’t see anything masculine about this guy… the most thin-skinned erratic non-logical whiny person in the world. That’s the ‘old woman’ stereotype. But I don’t see what is so masculine about him.”
Not only that, but as John Oliver brought up a few weeks ago, he’s apparently extremely insecure about the size of his hands. It must hold some truth to it considering Sen. Marco Rubio inexplicably brought up his hand size while he was still in the race, ultimately resulting in Trump making a reference to his penis during a presidential debate.
Then there’s the childish Twitter tirades he often goes on whenever someone dares to say anything critical of him or the fact that he defines what it means to be an arrogant blowhard who’s always trying to overcompensate to mask insecurities. To say nothing about, as Maher pointed out, his incessant whining over being asked tough questions or accusing people of being “unfair” to him.
And let’s not forget about the fact that he’s a bully – which is a huge sign of someone who’s suffering from some serious insecurities.
Though even if you go beyond all of that, what’s “masculine” about Trump? There’s nothing “manly,” “masculine,” or “tough” about being egotistical, loud and brash. That’s just called being an arrogant blowhard with a massive ego.
He’s every bit the “diva” as anyone I’ve ever witnessed.
Hell, he’s so insecure and cowardly he won’t even agree to do anymore debates because he doesn’t want to be exposed on a national stage.
So, other than someone believing being rude, loud, obnoxious, arrogant and a blatant bully is “masculine” – what in the world does Trump do that could even remotely be misconstrued as “manly”?
Don’t get me wrong, nothing I just listed is “manly” or “masculine.” I’m sure these fools who love being fed hateful, vile rhetoric find his massive ego and endless bragging about himself quite “manly,” but none of that makes him a “tough guy.” In fact, much of his behavior is really just an indication that, deep down, he’s nothing but a jackass who uses these tactics to mask the fact that he’s a thin-skinned, whiny man-child who’s actually extremely insecure.
