While there are worse candidates running for the Republican nomination (Donald Trump, Ted Cruz), I’ve stated previously that I feel Carly Fiorina might be the most despicable person vying to represent the GOP this November. This is a woman who laid off 30,000 employees at HP during the same time she tripled her own salary, bought five corporate jets and nearly ran the company into the ground. Yet to hear her talk about her time at the company you would think she was one of the best CEOs in history.
Why she’s even still in this race is perplexing. She had a brief “15 minutes of fame” a few months ago, though that momentum was destroyed after fact-checkers shredded her bogus claims about non-existent videos she claimed to have watched depicting abortion clinics with fetuses kicking as the doctor told nurses to keep it alive so they could harvest its organs. Even when she was called out on her lies by Fox News, no less, she doubled-down on her false statements and her poll numbers collapsed.
With practically zero chance at ever becoming relevant again, at this point she’s really just delaying the inevitable “suspension” of her campaign.
But even with her campaign on life support, she seems determined to continue to prove that she’s a horrible person. Earlier this week while she gave an anti-abortion speech in Iowa, she ambushed a group of small children who were on a field trip at a botanical garden to use as props. Fiorina apparently led the group of pre-schoolers into a room, complete with a giant image of a fetus on the wall, and proceeded to talk about harvesting baby parts from aborted fetuses.
“The kids went there to see the plants,” said Chris Beck, a father of a four-year-old boy who was involved. “She ambushed my son’s field trip.”
“Taking them into a pro-life/abortion discussion was very poor taste and judgment,” Beck continued. “I would not want my four-year-old going to that forum, he can’t fully comprehend that stuff. He likes dinosaurs, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Transformers.”
There’s no other way to put it, this was sick. Not only to use these children as a prop for her anti-abortion propaganda, but to lure these children into this room, saying things that they couldn’t possibly comprehend – when they’re supposed to be on a field trip to see plants – is appalling. It’s not her place to bring someone else’s children into something like that. She’s nobody of authority. If I were a parent and I knew that Fiorina did this, I would be irate – possibly even talking to a lawyer if it could be proven that she did this without any sort of permission.
Even for Carly Fiorina, this was a new low. And considering her rather pathetic track record – that’s saying something.
