CNN Hilariously Fact Checks & Trolls Trump’s Tuesday Morning Attack on the Network

Donald Trump spending most of his morning watching cable news, then rage-tweeting about whatever upsets him is nothing new — but one of the networks he attacks turning the tables and fact checking his lies on Twitter is relatively rare.

Well, that’s exactly what CNN did this morning when it responded to Trump’s continued false accusations that the network’s in a ratings decline, accusing it of requiring people to be anti-Trump in order to be employed there:

And, finally, my favorite one:

This was a fantastic trolling/fact checking jab at Trump. Not only did they point out the fact that the self-proclaimed “stable genius” can’t spell, but they made sure to mention that their ratings are actually way up, while posting a poll that shows the network is viewed as more trustworthy than Trump.

Trump’s Tuesday Twitter tantrum is another example showing exactly how he just makes crap up. He doesn’t know if what he’s saying is true — nor does he even care — he simply wants to believe that it is and in his twisted mind he really does seem to think that what he wants to be true is, in fact, true.

To make matters worse, he’s empowered to repeatedly peddle his lies and easy-to-debunk nonsense because he’s supported by millions of people who are gullible enough to trust everything that he says. I have no doubt that the vast majority of Trump’s supporters would look at CNN’s factual claims about their ratings, as well as the poll showing that the network is more trusted than Trump, and dismiss all of it as “fake news” because, like this “president,” it’s not what they want to believe is true.

But I’d like to give kudos to CNN for standing up to Trump. While I understand why they, and most other credible mainstream news organizations, usually need to take the “higher ground” when it comes to dealing with this imbecile, I won’t fault them for posts like this when necessary to set the record straight on Trump’s repeated lies and attacks.
