Co-founder of Lucas Oil Goes Off on Disgusting Anti-minority Rant

charlotte-lucasThe co-founder of Lucas Oil, Charlotte Lucas, recently posted a disgusting anti-minority Facebook rant specifically targeting atheists, Muslims and any other minority group.

As reported by RTV6 in Indianapolis, Charlotte wrote:

“I’m sick and tired of minorities running our country! As far as I’m concerned, I don’t think that atheists (minority), muslims [sic] (minority) nor any other minority group has the right to tell the majority of the people in the United States what they can and cannot do here. Is everyone so scared that they can’t fight back for what is right or wrong with his country?”

The post has since been deleted.

When asked about the post she said, “I was very upset when I wrote that. I will not elaborate other than to say that there are certain people who are trying to make the whole world eat what they want to eat and do what they want to do. I don’t think it’s any of their business what I put in my mouth. Thank you.”

What in the world do atheists, Muslims or any other minority group have to do with telling someone what they can or cannot eat? Did she go to a Muslim-owned restaurant that didn’t serve pork? Her response to these comments makes absolutely no sense when compared to what she actually posted.

And I’m assuming she’s Christian based on her rant. Though she seems unaware that there are millions of right-wing Christians in this country doing everything they can to tell other Americans what they can or cannot do. Who they can or cannot marry. And the only reason many of these people don’t go even more radical with their beliefs is that they legally can’t. Though they’re trying just about every single day to pass laws that seek to restrict the rights of others. Hoping that at least some of them won’t be legally overturned.

In my opinion, I think it’s pretty clear from this post that she’s in favor of “traditional white Christians” being the ones to dictate what is or isn’t right or wrong in this country. Which is ironic considering she’s a woman. A gender that, to this very day, continues to struggle for equal rights in this country. Even though women make up the majority of the population. And not too long ago, as a woman, she would have never been allowed to be a co-founder of such a large oil company. Heck, less than a century ago she wouldn’t even have been allowed to vote in many states.

But the reason I find this story so interesting is because of what company she co-founded, Lucas Oil. Most people who follow the NFL have probably heard of them because the name for the Indianapolis Colts home stadium is Lucas Oil Stadium.

You have to know Roger Goodell is hating life right now. This isn’t simply a matter of suspending a player for violating the NFL’s conduct policy (something he’s already screwed up this year). This is a sponsor of one of the 32 NFL stadiums going off on a highly controversial rant against minorities. Let’s not forget that he’s currently still in hot water with some for his continued support of the Washington Redskins name.

And being in a state like Indiana, which isn’t exactly a stronghold for liberals, I’m sure her rant has plenty of support from local residents.

So it’s going to be very interesting to see how the NFL handles this, how the locals respond to her and how it ultimately all plays out.

      Flagged for being an ignoramus.

    • Oh no no no. Double flagged. We’re not going to have that kind of sexist shit here.

      • lavon40

        STFU!

      • Make me, jackass.
Although this flagging, at least, did get a response–you’ll notice it’s now blanked out.
Neener neener neener. (Sorry, couldn’t resist. A childish response does deserve the same, don’t you think?)

      • BB-Mystic

        Gee whiz! More flagging!
You know, you might as well quit while you’re (kind of) ahead. But then again, I don’t expect you to, seeing as you’re only ten years old.
        Have a nice day, kiddo.

I don’t necessary think this is sexist. For all I know you could be a guy and I got something that you can put in your mouth as well.

“I don’t think that atheists (minority), muslims [sic] (minority) nor any other minority group has the right to tell the majority of the people in the United States what they can and cannot do here.”
She’s complaining about the minority dictating to the majority. Isn’t that the whole of Republican operations since January of 2009? The minority (GOP) trying to tell the majority (Democrats) what they can and cannot do.

    • Lindsay Jenney

Then you dont understand and have no respect for the Constitution.

      • Shane Campfield

You’ll have to elaborate on how his analysis has anything to do with the constitution.

      • Guest

If you don’t get that and need someone to explain it to you, maybe you need to read as well.

      • J P

Right back at you. Nothing jon said as ANYTHING to do with the constitution.

………..another white trash regressive troll posted as GUEST!
        PRAISE JEEEEEEEEEESUS!

      • jonjstrine42

I most certainly do understand and respect the Constitution. However, what the GOP is going has nothing at all to do with the Constitution and everything to do with the fact that they are in the minority and have refused to let anything pass that isn’t 100% of what they want. If you think that has anything to do with the Constitution, you’re completely misunderstanding what I said, most likely on purpose. It has everything to do with the unprecedented obstruction of the Republican party for the last six years.

hey Lindsey– what PROOF do U have that jonjstrine42 has no respect for constitution???

now,,,,,,, about that expensive– and fabulist- shibboleth of the GOP regarding “trickle down” economics-

  • Cemetery Girl

I will be surprised if the NFL pays any attention. They are out to make money. Behavior of players, staff, owners, sponsers is not a concern unless it has to be. If it could threaten their profits they will pretend to pay attention (and just wait for the next distraction.)

    • Ivan Renko

Silly to bring the NFL into this. And conservatives. And the state of Indiana. And Christians. And women. And the Washington Redskins.

      • J P

Speaking to her own narrow mindedness seems appropriate to me.

  • tandg

she probably thinks she created the oil that bears her name, too!! such a bunch of baloney

  • Beaufighter

    Freedumbs.

  • Bethie41

What astounds me is that in the rarefied world in which she lives, and consorts only with her own, I doubt very seriously that she has ever been inconvenienced by a minority person, except maybe when her maid or handyman asks for a day off to have a baby or cancer surgery

    • Edward Krebbs

How has she ever gone to any restaurant and not been limited to a list of selections – called a menu ? What restaurant carries every food in the world ?

If I want Tacos I don’t go to a Chinese Restaurant. If I want Chinese I don’t go to a BBQ shack.

  • strayaway

“What in the world do atheists, Muslims or any other minority group have to do with telling someone what they can or cannot eat? Did she go to a Muslim-owned restaurant that didn’t serve pork?” –

She was probably referring to demands for halal only food made by Muslims. Often they just want a halal option but sometimes, especially in Europe, demand that all pork and other non-halal food be disallowed at stores and on school menus. Do a Google search for something like “demand halal menu”. Halal meat must be killed by a knife to the neck being careful not to cut the spine. There is debate in the Muslim community if meat is still halal of a stun gun is first used to first make the animal unconscious before slitting its throat.

    • Sue Roediger

that’s interesting ……… I have not heard of Jews making such demands for Kosher products. Or Catholics demanding no meat options on Fridays ………….

    • Nemisis

The military goes out of it’s way to make sure that the food requirements of an religious observer are met. At least they did while I was in. If they don’t now, they need to rethink that position.

It really is not that hard to accommodate.

  • TaxPaying American Voter

I will never again buy or recommend their products again.

    • peterk

No more Lucas products for me either .. there are plenty others to choose from.

  • Andrea

The fear is what will happen when the ethnic minorities, racial minorities, religious minorities, non religious minorities, women, liberals, Christian leftists, and progressives finally come together. We will be the majority.

Not for nuthin’, but, she does have a right to say what she pleases. First Ammendment and all… As long as she doesn’t lie she can rant and rave all she wants. I think we have to start being a little concerned that folks can’t speak as they please (without causing harm of course). I don’t like what she said, but, I have to back up her right to say these things. She should not have been pushed to delete her rant. The First Ammendment is a wondrful thing.

    • History

Freedom of speech doesn’t mean freedom from consequences. Yes, she gets to say whatever she wants, but others are free to call her on her BS and refuse to support her products or places that bear her name. I think she chose to pull the comment because she didn’t like the consequences of what she said, not because someone forbid her to say what she posted.

    • Sue Roediger

The tight to free speech refers to the right to not be prosecuted. or censored, by the government. When a person exercises their free speech, others have the same freedom of speech to disagree.

  • Janice Pierson

This world is getting crazier and crazier. Everybody hates everybody else. Who cares what someone else eats, wears, what God they pray to or don’t pray to. Everyone just needs to leave everyone else alone; this is America, a free country. 1st Amendment or not I think she realized that her rant just might have cost Lucas Oil some business/$$$$. And money talks……

  • Lokari

“I don’t think it’s any of their business what I put in my mouth”

Well, we can all see that you certainly put your foot in it!

  • Tillmann Puschka

perhaps all of those minorities who play for the Colts in Lucas Oil Stadium may have something to say about this, hmmm? I certainly hope they do.

Why did she retract her statement? Racist coward.

  • Kelly

Cute, but if anyone here is upset about the entire universe conforming to their views, sounds like it’s her.

  • Fernando

Lucas oil just lost a customer! She can’t tell me what oil I should buy!
