Unless you’re one of the millions of mindless sheep who’ve been brainwashed and conned into believing that Donald Trump is competent enough to be president, it’s very likely that you’re absolutely ashamed and embarrassed that someone as mentally inept as he is will soon be our nation’s leader.
Even now, it’s still mind-boggling that over 60 million people voted for a man for president who can’t even control himself on social media. He’s a mental infant who often sends out tweets that resemble something a petulant teenager with a small vocabulary might post instead of a 70-year-old man who’s about to become President of the United States.
As our future president might say.. SAD!
While most Republicans have long since sold out to the man many of them once spoke of almost as negatively as they do President Obama, there are still some out there who aren’t afraid to speak out against Trump.
One of those individuals happens to be conservative radio host Charlie Sykes. During an interview with MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell the two men discussed potential issues with Trump’s tweeting. with Sykes offering his suggestion as to why our next president seems so addicted to the social media site.
“It seems like the stock market in other parts of the world are going to have to learn to, in effect, devalue Trump tweets,” Lawrence O’Donnell said. “That they have no real meaning. I mean, for example, he attacks Boeing one day and the stock drops a bit during the day. Then he comes back and praises Boeing and attacks another competitor of Boeing and drives that stock down.”
“You just don’t know,” Sykes replied. “I mean, when does this jump the shark? I mean also, this is going to encapsulate, and this is really going to symbolize the quality of this man’s thought. I mean, there was a time when we had presidents who read books. Now we have presidents who write in one hundred and forty character messages. You know we once had presidents who were eloquent, who could rally the nation. But, you know, here is a president who does feel comfortable on Twitter because I do think that that is the perfect venue for the quality of his thinking. And I think that that is going to be something that’s going to be a defining element in his presidency.”
To put that in another way, Trump’s too stupid to handle any sort of thought longer than 140-characters.
And he’s absolutely right. This is someone who has sent out many… many tweets with words that aren’t spelled correctly. However, it’s not Trump’s poor spelling that bothers me, it’s the fact that he apparently doesn’t know how to use spellcheck.
He can brag about his supposed success and wealth all he wants, but anyone with even a shred of common sense can tell that Donald Trump is not a very bright person. This is someone who literally bragged about the size of his vocabulary by saying, “I went to an Ivy League school. I’m very highly educated. I know words. I have the best words.”
Yet he apparently thought “unprecedented,” as in something that’s never been done before, was spelled “unpresidented” — which isn’t actually a real word.
Progressives will need the strength to fight every single day against the nightmare that’s going to be the Trump presidency, and we’ll need to work with Republicans who refuse to sell their souls to back this vile man if we want to be effective at combating his never-ending stream of lies, propaganda and conspiracies.
