The DNC Responds to Sarah Palin’s Embarrassing Iowa Gibberish with Two Words

obama-bidenAs I’ve said plenty of times in the past, Sarah Palin is the person voters on the left should be hoping gets as much media attention as possible and becomes one of the leading faces for the GOP.

Listen, I’m not saying that hearing her voice isn’t akin to hearing nails screech across a chalkboard. I fully agree that she’s absolutely deplorable and can test the sanity of even the most sane human being. But she also exemplifies the true idiocy of the tea party so perfectly that all we really need to do is sit back and let Palin be Palin. It’s not just that she’s a babbling fool spouting off complete nonsense almost every single time she opens her mouth, it’s that she’s still very popular among tea party conservatives and many on the far right. When independent voters think of the Republican party, I want Sarah Palin and all of her absurd ridiculousness to be one of the first things that comes to their minds.

Her speech at the Iowa Freedom Summit is a perfect example. I could write 500 articles blasting the Republican party for all of the ideologies they stand for with which I disagree, including linked sources supporting every single point I made – and those articles wouldn’t have near the impact as just one speech from the tea party queen herself that lasted just over 30 minutes.

Her incoherent rambling not only managed to overshadow every single other person that was at that summit, negating any national exposure that many of these presidential hopefuls hoped to gain with their attendance, but she did more damage to the Republican party nationally than any attack ad from the Democratic National Committee could have possibly dreamed of doing.

Which probably explains why when DNC Communications Director Mo Elleithee was asked to give a response to Palin’s speech at the Iowa summit, he simply said, “Thank you!”:

And that’s exactly what I felt after watching her speech. I’m being perfectly honest when I say that had I not seen her give this speech with my own eyes, and someone had only given me a transcript of what she said, I could have easily believed it was a Saturday Night Live skit with Tina Fey. While I know suffering through 30+ minutes of Palin speaking is unimaginable for many on the left, I still would highly encourage anyone who has the time to watch the video. There simply aren’t enough adjectives in the English language to properly describe the train wreck it really was. If you can take your personal feelings about the woman out of it, and simply watch it for the disaster that it is, it’s actually 30 minutes of some of the best comedy you might see anywhere.

But I absolutely loved this response from the DNC. In two words, they essentially confirmed that nothing they could say about that speech could embarrass the Republican party as much as what the tea party hero did all by herself.
