In case you missed it, over the last few days Donald Trump has made several headlines. From his suggestion last week that he might support a national registry database for Muslims, to his completely made up claim that in New Jersey he witnessed “thousands” of people celebrating the fall of the World Trade Center towers on 9/11, it was a rather eventful few days of absurdity – even by Trump standards.
Perhaps lost in the shuffle for many was the fact that he retweeted a graphic concerning gun-related homicide statistics that clearly meant to paint African-Americans as bloodthirsty murderers responsible for nearly all of the gun-related deaths in the United States. News of this retweet spread quickly and the ridiculous numbers listed on this graph were soundly debunked as pure fiction.
Well, last night Trump appeared on Fox News for an interview with Bill O’Reilly – and even O’Reilly called him out for spreading information that was clearly made up.
“When you tweet out a thing, and this bothered me, I gotta tell you, you tweeted out that whites killed by blacks, these were statistics you picked up from somewhere, at a rate of 81 percent. And that’s totally wrong,” O’Reilly said.
And then came one of the most absurd answers I’ve heard from a presidential candidate concerning something of this magnitude.
“Hey, Bill, Bill, am I gonna check every statistic?” Trump responded.
“You’re a presidential contender, you gotta check ’em,” O’Reilly replied.
Trump then went on to imply that because he got the graphic from a radio show (supposedly), that somehow makes it credible.
This is beyond comical. Here we have someone who’s the leading Republican candidate for the most powerful office in the entire world, and his excuse for tweeting out an obviously fake racist graphic was that it’s preposterous to assume that he’s going to be factual with everything he says or tweets.
It is absolutely mind-boggling that there are millions of conservatives out there supporting this clown. It’s like I’ve said plenty of times before, I can’t take Trump supporters seriously or show them much respect when discussing politics anymore. Honestly, they don’t deserve to have their political beliefs respected if they’re stupid enough to support somebody like Trump.
I absolutely mean it when I say that you have to be a moron to support Donald Trump for president. From his childish Twitter tirades, to his 4th grade vocabulary, it’s an embarrassment to our nation that one of our two largest political parties has this guy as their frontrunner.
You know it’s bad when you can tell how ashamed many Republicans are that he’s their frontrunner.
There really doesn’t seem to be a level to which Donald Trump can stoop to make his supporters finally realize what an incredible jackass he really is.
