Despite Donald Trump’s continued whining about this year’s election being rigged, voter fraud is practically non-existent and it’s essentially impossible to rig our presidential election. In fact, to rig the election for Hillary Clinton would take a massive amount of coordinated support from both Democrats and Republicans — as well as the biggest cover-up in all of human history.
Seriously, I’m not exaggerating when I say that.
To rig a presidential election would take a coordinated cover-up on such a massive scale, involving a massive amount of people, that to even believe that it could be accomplished takes an incredible amount of ignorance and/or mental instability.
So, the fact that Trump’s literally pushing this idea that the only way he’s going to lose is if the election is rigged, is absolutely preposterous.
However, in a story that’s absolutely hilarious, authorities actually have arrested someone for allegedly committing voter fraud in an apparent attempt to rig the election: Terri Lynn Rote, a 55-year-old woman from Iowa who also happens to be a devout supporter of Donald Trump.
As reported by the Des Moines Register:
A Des Moines woman has been arrested on suspicion of voting twice this month in the general election, police and court records show.
Terri Lynn Rote, 55, was booked into the Polk County Jail about 3:40 p.m. Thursday on a first-degree election misconduct charge, which is a Class D felony.
Rote, a registered Republican, reportedly cast an early voting ballot at the Polk County Election Office, 120 Second Ave., and another ballot at a county satellite voting location in Des Moines, according to a Des Moines police report.
Though as The Blaze pointed out, she’s most certainly a huge Trump supporter.
This information shouldn’t really be all that surprising. While Republicans are usually the ones claiming that it’s Democrats who are trying to rig elections, it’s actually the GOP that’s been actively trying to do so. Take for instance in Alabama where the state targeted for closure all the DMV offices in counties where African Americans make up more than 75 percent of the population, or Wisconsin where a Republican said in court that opening up more access to voting is a bad thing.
Or look at an investigation the Florida Department of Law Enforcement did concerning voter fraud following the 2012 election that found a whopping two violations (both involving registration violations, not in-person voter fraud) — both committed by Republicans.
The rhetoric coming from Republicans is a textbook case of accusing your opposition of doing what you are actually doing, yourself. Not only is voter fraud practically non-existent, but when you look at the facts of what Republicans are doing, they’re the ones who are trying to rig elections by passing strict voter ID laws and changing rules to make it more difficult for people to vote — because they damn well know that low voter turnout is good for the GOP.
Which is why I can’t help but laugh that after all the lies, propaganda and ridiculous rhetoric that’s come from Donald Trump concerning voter fraud and rigged elections, the person arrested for allegedly trying to vote twice in an effort to rig the election — was one of his supporters.
