Eric Holder Crushes The Obsession Fox News Has With Meaningless Terminology (Video)

eric-holder-2Fox News has always been pretty ridiculous, but since the election of President Obama they’ve been comically outlandish. Often the various shows on the network seem more like a skit from Saturday Night Live than a supposedly legitimate program on a large cable news channel. It’s like I’ve often said, Fox News isn’t “news,” it’s just conservative entertainment.

That being said, the way Fox News has covered ISIS has been ridiculously over-the-top. They often seem to try to portray the terror group as more powerful and dangerous than Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union combined. To listen to many on Fox News talk, you’d think that ISIS was the biggest threat the world has ever seen.

It’s just total nonsense.

Don’t get me wrong, the group is extremely dangerous. There’s no denying that. They are easily one of (if not the) most barbaric and monstrous terror groups we’ve ever seen. But they’re not the supposed superpower that Fox News portrays them as.

Well, one of the biggest non-issues that many within the conservative media have obsessed about is the fact that President Obama won’t refer to them as “Islamic radicals” or “Muslim fanatics.” Which, of course, clearly proves that President Obama is an anti-American, Christian-hating Muslim sympathizer.

Or…

He’s simply taken the stance that when speaking of these fanatical groups he’s not going to mention religion. Because here’s the truth – there’s really no such thing as “radical Islam.” Sure, there are groups who are controlled and driven by radical interpretations of Islam, but there’s not a “radical Islam central headquarters” controlling these various groups linked to terrorism.

Now ISIS has leadership, bases, organization and structure. We can go to war with them – and we are. But to even dignify this horrific group by linking them to a religion that they’ve perverted and distorted for their own monstrous means gives them legitimacy that they do not deserve.

ISIS wants to act as if it’s a religious movement out to create a powerful caliphate. Why give them that respect by essentially labeling them as such? I say we treat them like bottom-feeding monstrous degenerates that they are. Don’t give legitimacy to their “cause” by recognizing their perversions of a religion – because that’s what they want.

But be that as it may, Fox News has made a point nearly every single day to emphasize that President Obama refuses to call ISIS anything linked to Islam.

You know, because that’s what’s important.

Well, apparently Eric Holder has hit his limit with this pointless drivel coming from the conservative entertainment channel and absolutely crushed Fox News’ obsession over this pointless issue during a luncheon in Washington.

“We spend more time, more time talking about what you call it, as opposed to what do you do about it, you know? I mean really,” Holder said. “If Fox didn’t talk about this, they would have nothing else to talk about, it seems to me.”

But he didn’t stop there.

“Radical Islam, Islamic extremism – I’m not sure an awful lot is gained by saying that,” he continued. “It doesn’t have any impact on our military posture. It doesn’t have any impact on what we call it, on the policies that we put in place. What we have to do is defined not by the terms that we use, but by the facts on the ground. So I don’t worry an awful lot about what the appropriate terminology ought to be.”

We have launched well over 2,000 airstrikes against ISIS; we’re getting set to probably send ground troops in; nd we’re building a coalition in the Middle East with the intent on eradicating ISIS from the planet – but, yes, let’s continue to obsess over the fact that President Obama won’t call them “Islamic radicals.”

Because that really matters.

It’s just right-wing fear-mongering against the president, pure and simple. Since the beginning, conservatives have done anything and everything they could to paint President Obama as an anti-American/anti-Christian radical who is actually a Muslim and this laughable obsession over his refusal to label ISIS in religious terms is just more of the same meaningless drivel.

It’s Fox News obsessing over something pointless and stupid because they know their viewers are gullible enough to fall for such pointless nonsense.

This article has been up for over 24 hours without a pertinent comment except for Mr. Hauck’s above so I will do my part to get the ball rolling. What could groups like the ISLAMIC State, Boko Harem, Al Queda, the Taliban, Jemiah Islamiyay, Abu Sayyaf, and other terrorist groups found in Muslim countries possibly have to do with Islam? Here’s a possible clue. Mohammed conquered most of the Arabian peninsula in his lifetime using some of the same techniques which he advocated. I wonder what the attorney general of Syria back then would have said about Mohammed. Was Mohammed a terrorist for the kilings, raping, amputations, and beheadings he promoted? I sort of agree with Mr. Holder thought that what must be responded to are all the things mentioned as conducted by the Islamic State whether or not it has anything to do with Islam. However, an understanding of precedents and history might be useful in dealing with causes rather than just playing whack-a-mole every time a new so-called radical Islamic group appears. Better yet, although this is hindsight, maybe the Bush and/or Obama administrations should not have overthrown Saddam, Khaddafi, Mubarak, and attempted to overthrow Assam because they had kept these terrorists at bay.
