If you’re a Republican, you should know you’re acting pretty ridiculous when even Karl Rove is essentially saying the rhetoric you’re trying to push is nonsense. But that’s basically what Rove said when he addressed Rand Paul’s continued attempt to somehow make the Monica Lewinsky scandal relevant again.
Somehow, Paul’s tried to make the Lewinsky scandal relevant to Democrats who call out the fact that Republicans often seem to be waging a war on women. Honestly, I can’t even figure out what his point has been to keep bringing it up. All I can figure is that he’s trying to bash Bill Clinton in hopes that somehow going after Bill will have a negative impact on Hillary.
It’s honestly been completely ridiculous.
And it appears Karl Rove agrees.
Rove recently said about Paul’s continued insistence on bringing up the Monica Lewinsky scandal:
“Frankly, Rand Paul spending a lot of time talking about the mistakes of Bill Clinton does not look like a big agenda for the future of the country.
I’m not certain, again, that beating up on Bill Clinton and Monica Lewinsky is a particularly good thing to strengthen your skills.”
In other words, he basically said that Paul continuing to bring up something that happened 16 years ago makes him look childish and appear that he has no idea what he’s doing.
And it’s true.
Rand Paul is basically just a rip off of his dad’s ideology, mixed with a strong dose of pandering to the tea party, in an effort to stand a better chance at putting himself in a position to become president.
I’ve gone on record plenty of times in saying that I don’t believe Rand Paul has any chance at ever becoming President of the United States. Honestly, he’s just too much of a clown.
While I can’t stand Texas Senator Ted Cruz, and I think he’s absolutely nuts, he’s at least consistent and seems like he honestly believes what he’s saying. With Rand Paul, he comes off as that kid in school who’s desperately trying to be the “cool kid” or hang out with the cool kids, but he just comes off desperate and lame.
But I guess that’s what happens when you ride your father’s coattails to success instead of earning it on your own.
If Karl Rove is basically saying you’re acting ridiculous on Fox News, that’s really not a good sign for your presidential aspirations.
Because let’s face it – when you’re digging up 16-year-old scandals that most people didn’t even care about when they were going on, that’s a pretty good sign that you really don’t have any idea what you’re doing.
