Even Karl Rove is Saying Rand Paul is Acting Like a Fool

rove-paulIf you’re a Republican, you should know you’re acting pretty ridiculous when even Karl Rove is essentially saying the rhetoric  you’re trying to push is nonsense.  But that’s basically what Rove said when he addressed Rand Paul’s continued attempt to somehow make the Monica Lewinsky scandal relevant again.

Somehow, Paul’s tried to make the Lewinsky scandal relevant to Democrats who call out the fact that Republicans often seem to be waging a war on women.  Honestly, I can’t even figure out what his point has been to keep bringing it up.  All I can figure is that he’s trying to bash Bill Clinton in hopes that somehow going after Bill will have a negative impact on Hillary.

It’s honestly been completely ridiculous.

And it appears Karl Rove agrees.

Rove recently said about Paul’s continued insistence on bringing up the Monica Lewinsky scandal:

“Frankly, Rand Paul spending a lot of time talking about the mistakes of Bill Clinton does not look like a big agenda for the future of the country.

I’m not certain, again, that beating up on Bill Clinton and Monica Lewinsky is a particularly good thing to strengthen your skills.”

In other words, he basically said that Paul continuing to bring up something that happened 16 years ago makes him look childish and appear that he has no idea what he’s doing.

And it’s true.

Rand Paul is basically just a rip off of his dad’s ideology, mixed with a strong dose of pandering to the tea party, in an effort to stand a better chance at putting himself in a position to become president.

I’ve gone on record plenty of times in saying that I don’t believe Rand Paul has any chance at ever becoming President of the United States.  Honestly, he’s just too much of a clown.

While I can’t stand Texas Senator Ted Cruz, and I think he’s absolutely nuts, he’s at least consistent and seems like he honestly believes what he’s saying.  With Rand Paul, he comes off as that kid in school who’s desperately trying to be the “cool kid” or hang out with the cool kids, but he just comes off desperate and lame.

But I guess that’s what happens when you ride your father’s coattails to success instead of earning it on your own.

If Karl Rove is basically saying you’re acting ridiculous on Fox News, that’s really not a good sign for your presidential aspirations.

Because let’s face it – when you’re digging up 16-year-old scandals that most people didn’t even care about when they were going on, that’s a pretty good sign that you really don’t have any idea what you’re doing.

Pish-posh, ol’e octopus head is now being accused, along with former Virgina Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli, of plagiarizing the complaint used in his feckless lawsuit against the NSA. This is going to be fun…..

  • geoelb

Don’t worry about defeating Rand Paul. He can do it all by himself~!

  • Austin Brenan

He’s suing Obama for something that’s been going on since 2006. He’s a freaking irrational, idiotic, moron.

    • strayaway

You seem more irritated that anyone would confront the expanding police state then with the police state Paul is trying to reel in.

      • white trash religious teaparty

would that include the NON police state of BIG GOVT trying to legislate morality ( shitbag morality) of no gays getting marriage rights or telling women what to do with THEIR OWN BODY???
        let us know; willya kreskin?

Dude, Rand Paul is obsessed with a 16 year old blowjob that Bill Clinton got. Don’t even try to play that off.

      • strayaway

There were also women charging Bill Clinton with rape and molestation. That aside, its curious that you are more concerned about Rand bringing that up than Rand’s efforts against the administration to protect your 4th Amendment civil liberties. For the record, I was more concerned about Bill Clinton’s transfer of technology to China and draining Social Security accounts to balance the budget than I was about his alleged sexual predations. After all, all those women could have been liars. But even if they weren’t all liars, if Hillary is cool with it then maybe it isn’t an issue, right?

Rand Paul is as much of a punchline as Sarah Palin. That being said, I am anxious to see him stepping out of the GOP 2016 clown car. It’s going to be a treat because every time we think they can’t top their previous level of crazy they go and surprise us. Bring it!

      • strayaway

Yes, he is proposing supporting the fourth amendment. He has also successfully fought against the use of drones on US citizens, opposed the bombing of Libya, opposed action against Syria, opposed Obama making and ignoring laws, tried to reign in spying on Americans, and other such things that make progressives crazy.

      • CM

Sounds like you think he’s a keeper. Me too, I love a good laugh!

      • TeaScum

Good girl! Good little FOXbot! You can go get your cookie now!

  • strayaway

It’s interesting to see progressives take the side of Carl Rove. It’s no coincidence that the 1% have fared better under Obama than under Rove’s buddy W. Bush. After all, progressives have more in common with neocons as comrades promoting expansive and corporatized centralized government. Drones, 4th. amendment violations, perpetual wars, crony capitalism… Rand is just getting in the way of the progressive neocon agenda.

He could get in the way by doing his job. You do realize that only Congress has the power to change things. Grand standing with potentially frivolous lawsuits, would take years assuming they don’t get thrown out due to plaintiff standing and class problems. All of those issues beyond the scope of this article are also the result of years of legislative actions and court interpretations.

Its his party that put the law in place now he wants to sue the other party …how about we hang every idiot that voted for the patriot act

    • strayaway

Russell Feingold was the only Democrat in the Senate who voted against the Patriot Act. Rand Paul wants to reign it in or repeal it. So are you for the Patriot Act, NSA spying, etc. or Rand Paul?

      • WebAntOnYouTube

Did you mean to say Feingold voted for the Patriot Act?

      • strayaway

No, that isn’t what I wrote. John Spriggs claimed that The Republican party put the Patriot Act in place. I pointed out that that was incorrect because only Russell Feingold had voted against it in the Senate. Every other Democratic senator voted with every republican Senator to pass it.

Rand Paul brings up old scandals of Bill Clinton; insinuates Hillary is an unworthy candidate because she:

    1) Tolerated his womanizing
    2) Didn’t divorce him for it

I can’t even say how offensive it is to me – as a woman – that a man would not respect her right to choose her own path in life. Would he really consider her a viable candidate had she divorced him??? BS

Whether to divorce (or not) for any number of reasons is a personal decision, not easily reached.

Tho *I* might not have kept a philandering husband, I have nothing but RESPECT for a woman who can get past it.

^^^That lack of respect for a woman who chose a path Rand Paul (and many others) disapprove of is part and parcel of the GOP War on Women.
