Five Pat Robertson Quotes Showing He’s Insane and Has No Business Being On TV

I recently read where Pat Robertson was quoted as saying that homosexuals in San Francisco were going around intentionally infecting people with AIDS.

His exact words when discussing homosexuals and AIDS were:

“You know what they do in San Francisco? Some of the gay community there, they want to get people. So, if they’ve got the stuff, they’ll have a ring. You shake hands and the ring’s got a little thing where you cut your finger. Really. I mean it’s that kind of vicious stuff, which would be the equivalent of murder.”

Now anyone who takes this man seriously should have their head examined, but it did get me to ask myself, “how is this man still on television?”  At what point is his nonsense classified as hate speech?  Because it’s not just this quote, there’s a seemingly endless stream of asinine statements anyone can easily find that have come from this ignorant, fear mongering ass clown.

So I decided I’d list 5 of the most ridiculous quotes from Pat Robertson that I’ve ever seen or heard:

  1. “Feminism is a socialist, anti-family, political movement that encourages women to leave their husbands, kill their children, practice witchcraft, destroy capitalism and become lesbians.”
  2. We have been inundated with skepticism and secularism. And overseas, they’re simple, humble. You tell ‘em God loves ‘em and they say, ‘Okay, he loves me.’ You say God will do miracles and they say, ‘Okay, we believe him.’ And that’s what God’s looking for. That’s why they have miracles.
  3. “Just like what Nazi Germany did to the Jews, so liberal America is now doing to the evangelical Christians. It’s no different. It is the same thing. It is happening all over again. It is the Democratic Congress, the liberal-based media and the homosexuals who want to destroy the Christians. Wholesale abuse and discrimination and the worst bigotry directed toward any group in America today. More terrible than anything suffered by any minority in history.”
  4. “I know this is painful for the ladies to hear, but if you get married, you have accepted the headship of a man, your husband. Christ is the head of the household and the husband is the head of the wife, and that’s the way it is, period.”
  5. “I would warn Orlando that you’re right in the way of some serious hurricanes, and I don’t think I’d be waving those flags [gay pride flags] in God’s face if I were you, This is not a message of hate, this is a message of redemption.  But a condition like this will bring about the destruction of your nation.  It’ll bring about terrorist bombs; it’ll bring earthquakes, tornadoes, and possibly a meteor.”

There you have it, ladies and gentlemen — Pat Robertson, former Republican presidential candidate and current peddler of hate, ignorance and the complete perversion of Christianity.

It’s just shocking that this man is still aired on free television.

Oh, but let’s not ignore the fact that this guy has claimed on numerous occasions that “God” has told him certain truths, such as:

  • The world would end in November 1982—Never happened
  • In 2006 here would be horrific storms levied against the Pacific Northwest—Never happened
  • Sometime in 2007 “mass killings” would be levied against the United States in some sort of terrorist attack—Never happened
  • In 2009 gold would hit $1900 an ounce and oil $300 per barrel—Never happened
  • That President Obama would be defeated in 2012—Never happened

And those are just a handful of his “God told me…” statements.  Trust me, there are many more.

So, Pat Robertson claims he’s of sound mind, yet seems to constantly have a voice in his head that tells him all sorts of inaccurate information.  A voice which he claims is “God.”

But — he’s not insane?

How is it again that this man is still on television?  I mean I know why — the question is rhetorical.  Because there are still millions of people who look at Pat Robertson as a man of God.  They look at him as a beacon of morality and a compass to guide them through the events in their every day lives.

And that’s an absolutely terrifying thought.

He’s not aired on FREE television as far as I know; he’s on The Family Channel/ABC Family which is a pay cable station. Apparently there is some deal where that channel has to run his program twice a day at least. Like, if you want to be in business, you have to show Pat Robertson.

    • Lawana

I agree. He has a cult following that pay to have more of this broadcast. He has spouted this garbage so long he has himself believing it.

    • gman

He started the Family Channel, I think anyway. I don’t care for him. I am Christian but not Protestant. It is like Rush Limbaugh or Sean Hannity, stop listening and watching the insanity if you don’t like it. One FB friend went ballistic about what Rush said one day, I told her simply, “Don’t listen to the trash.” It has no effect on us unless we let it.

      • robingee

That’s not really a solution though, since he has followers who believe what he says, and will vote in accordance with politicians who don’t want people to have rights.

It’s the same if he says black people are going to steal from you so don’t trust them – his believers will then profile blacks, refuse to hire them, etc.

Something like the Westboro Baptist Church is not as worrysome, since the only followers they have are themselves, but people with followings are people we must pay attention to. Ignoring does not make it go away.

      • sarahdoh

It is a free speech issue. He is free to say whatever crazy stuff he wants, anyone who wants to believe is free to believe. If he tells people how to vote, again.. we are still a free society. For those of us who see he is patently crazy, we are free to organize and outvote his sheep.

      • robingee

I really don’t think you can say, “Gays are trying to infect you with AIDS by using special rings” and that falls under free speech.

  • Pipercat

    Well, duh!

  • Fedupwithfalseprophets

Smart people, look like crazy people, to dumb people. And America’s government has a terrorist list with evangelical Christians listed at #1. HE’S NOT LOOKING TOO CRAZY NOW IS HE?

    • Melinda Craig

yes dear, he’s fruitier than a nut cake and so is anyone else who takes him seriously.

      • Guest

Apparently you aren’t so “fed up with false prophets” after all! *LOL*

      • AlphaChic

Wow, then you two have something in common. That is exactly what everyone says about you on N4J.

    • Stokes

You have to be kidding, tell me this not something you seriously believe. Show me a terrorist list with evangelical Christians listed at #1. Dumb people look like dumb people when they make comments like this.

    • Bob Stec

Really now I had no idea that the government had a terrorist list with “evangelical Christians” as #1. I assume you’ve seen said list and if that’s the case, you can produce this evidence you have right? Oh you can’t because you haven’t see the list, you heard about it from whose that now? Pat Robertson? Oh I understand now, your one of those Faux lovers who can not for the sake of their own lives put together a truly original thought or a coherent sentence for that matter.

      • Lisa

        ouch…. lol

    • Tim

He’s looking batshit insane, as is everyone who agrees with his psychotic rants. True Christians will avoid Pat Robertson like the plague, and instead go out and do Christ’s work of healing the sick and helping the suffering.

    • DavidDuffey

      All caps= possible dumb fuck.

    • Souris Optique

Apparently you aren’t quite so “fed up with false prophets” after all!

    • Cassandra

No, see, dumb people, look like crazy people, to smart people- you’ve got it all wrong dummy…

    • Guest

let me fix that for you… Crazy people look like smart people to dumb people

    • Debra Baker

yes he is and so are you

    • robingee

Where is this list? Next to the grocery list? Mike, eggs, bread… genocide!

    • disqus_6AeSbMRBY2

Yes he is, and now you are, too

    • Jason A. Quest

      You are.

    • Chomper Lomper Tawee

I’m sure you don’t look crazy at all!!

    • Jenny Sills

He is crazy and evil. He is NOT a Christian Evangelical or otherwise.

    • Teresa Groves

You see all the comments here about people who are crazy to believe a word that comes out of Robertson’s mouth? They’re talking about YOU. If you want to prove I’m wrong, provide proof of the terrorist list you believe exists. That’s OK. I’ll wait…

  • Memo Medina

Imagine if this lunitic had become President of the USA.

    • Terry Hatch

I would be living in Europe if he were.

      • Karen Mitchell

Hell, I’d even live in the Mideast if he were ever elected. And I’m female.

    • Aloanstar

Oh, he wanted to and tried. If it hadn’t come out that his wife was pregnant before they got married, he would have went further. Not that it matters to me…I could care less if people are married or not, but for his flock, it was a disgrace. He dropped out and swept it under the rug…hoping no one would look any further. Like later using his “mission” planes for his mission to and from the African diamond mines. Firing Jake Steinfeld from his CBN show “Big Brother Jake” for showing his ass on an episode of “Dream On”. His guy has a closetful of tax evasions and under the cult radar BS going on, while at the same time, losing his mind. He should have been in jail a long time ago, had it not been for his GOP connections and money…but at least he should not be on the air, except for the fact that he owns the network.

    • Bubbles

Well we got Bush 2 didn’t we. What’s the difference.

    • wendy

Yeah, but look what is running on the right. Same ideas, different person. We should be very afraid, yet its so entertaining at the same time

  • Bob in exile

You’re just now discovering he’s insane ? There were signs of it back when he was writing speeches for Nixon.

    • Nixon started the t-bagger thing with Pat Robertson, Jerry Fallwell, Jimmy Swaggart, Jim and Tammy Faye Bakker, Paul and Jan Crouch etc. These cockroaches teamed up with the big money to form todays republican facist party. The big wigs provide the money, the religiously deluded rubes provide the vote. It’s worked till now but people are wising up and soon the tide will turn against them and they will die out and disappear. Wait….

  • Sean

2 and 3 are the same quotes

  • ryan

I have long avoided listening to Pat Robinson, because he did not make good sense, but in reviewing the 5 Robinson quotes that allegedly prove he is insane I think I may now, looks like him and I finally agree on some issues.

    • Tim

I’m glad you agree with Pat Robinson, but it’s Pat Robertson and his followers who are out of their minds

    • ed

“HE and I finally agree” not “HIM and I finally agree”. C’mon, man!

    • robingee

oh no shocked and appalled how dare you etc etc zzzzzzzzz…

  • AZComicGeek

“Wholesale abuse and discrimination and the worst bigotry directed toward any group in America today. More terrible than anything suffered by any minority in history.”

Really? Telling small minded christians to stop discrimination and bigotry is worse than the enslavement of the Africans? Worse than the systematic slaughter of millions of Jews, Gypsies, homosexuals, jehovah witnesses and others in the Nazi concentration camps?

    • Karen Mitchell

I loved that part, too! Those types of statements give me a little more insight into why their god is so insecure about being loved.

  • Ravenesque

    Welcome to Crazytown.

  • louis

I am not homosexual, a lesbian, a socialist, a baby killer, or any of the above mentioned. however, i would love to eradicate the entire world of evangelical Christians. they are EVIL. i don’t believe in fairy tales or god, talking snakes, pregnant virgins ect. however, I do believe that Pat is a false prophet who has exploited the minds of unstable elderly people and a religion so he may get rich. what a pathetic excuse for a human being. its funny, most Christians i have met, read about, or have heard speak are some of the most hateful, hypocritical people on the fucking planet. One of the reasons I have turned away from religion is of course lack of evidence and science, but also the fucked up messengers of god.

    • Jossi G.

Hey Lou, don’t turn against religion based on the desperate ranting of Pat Robertson, for God’s sakes !
Anyone with 3 firing neurons knows he’s whacked. Who cares what he says ? I like him for the comic relief he provides.
Chill, Bro. Come back to Jesus. He loves you, you know.

      • jonathan

Unless you don’t love him. Then you’re tortured. For all of eternity.

      • Shyster

O.m.g Jossi, just because someone speaks against a tool like Robertson, doesn’t mean they don’t love Jesus. You get a neuron or two. I’m Catholic, but I’m aghast at what so-called religious people have become. I believe in God, His son Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. I don’t need to belong to some religion to pray to them every day and act in their spirit. The Holy Trinity would NEVER condone what these so-called “religious” people are doing. It’s better to be without religion in these times.

      • Catholocism and reason are not compatible.

      • freethinker666

Christianity and reason are not compatible. When you are fool enough to believe in the existence of a cosmic Jewish zombie “who” was his own father, then reason is not your strong suit.

      • slugsucker

This about sums it up nicely.

      • hermanprovi

        true true

      • jonathan

First, I’m an atheist. I don’t really care who loves Jesus outside of needing to know how to play my cards against a Christian because they generally “hate” atheists. Maybe hate is a bad word to use there. Maybe discriminatory is more suited. See it everyday. Have lost construction contractions simply because I don’t believe in the sky fairy.

Get a neuron or two? Do you know what a neuron is? Haha. I agree just because you speak out doesn’t mean you don’t love Jesus.Though I could really care less, it was just a joke. And it’s only a joke and funny because it’s TRUE. Jesus loves you, unless you don’t love him. Because you go to HELL if you don’t love him. Which the VAST majority of the world DOES NOT.

And I agree. 100% better to not belong to a feeble minded religion. Why even believe at that point though? You think religion was any better “back in the day?”

Say you’re a Catholic but really you’re not a Catholic. Heck, your first words (o.m.g.) are technically taking the lords name in vain. You’ve cherry picked what you believe in and out of the Bible with what doesn’t apply to you in, these times as you say. I’m talking about the very simple, BASIC tenet/concept of the entire religion. It’s literally like the foundation of Christianity in a clear cut way: Love Jesus, because he loves you. But if you don’t love Jesus, believe he is the one god above all others gods, don’t take his name in vain etc. then you are going to go to Hell for all of eternity.

So don’t 21st century sugar coat your own BIBLE! Which you probably have not even read. I’ll leave you with a quote that I believe certainly applies to you:

“Religious moderation is the direct result of taking scripture less and less seriously. So why not take it less seriously still? Why not admit the the Bible is merely a collection of imperfect books written by highly fallible human beings.” Sam Harris

      • Sheila

and if you don’t believe in Jesus you’re going to hell? Well to me Jesus was a Jewish kid, bar mitzvah and everything. Ultimately, he was a teacher but that’s about it. And if I’m going to hell because I don’t follow your beliefs, well, see ya there.

      • jonathan

Dude. I’m an atheist. You totally mis interpreted that bud. Actually you totally missed the first FOUR WORDS on my post. You certainly won’t be seeing me in Hell or Heaven. Because they don’t exist. Unless your comment was an addition to my reply to the ignorant one’s comment?

      • Betsy Coddington-Galterio

no I think that the word hate is perfect.

      • Joseph O Polanco

Maybe Atheists could help their image by not plugging the immoral and premeditated killing of a healthy human being in utero by his/her mother. Just sayin’ …

Oh and being associated with Danton, Lenin, Sanger, Than Shwe, Stalin, Mengele, Mao, Kim Il Sung, Ceausescu, Honecker, Castro, Pol Pot, Broz Tito, Milosevic, Bonaparte, Mussolini and all the other oppressive, sadistic, democidal atheists who, collectively, butchered ***hundreds of millions*** of innocent men, women and children doesn’t help either …

      • jonathan

That’s a matter of opinion. So you’re saying that Christians don’t have abortions? That’s quite an assumption. And just sayin’ that’s your definition of life. Not mine. And plenty of folks agree with me. If you think it’s alive and healthy be my guest to see how long they survive outside of the womb. Be my guest to look into the functionality of it’s organs. Sure, it’s “alive” in the sense it has the potential to live. Bacteria are a live but most people hardly consider it murder to use anti bacterial soap. But hey, who really cares. It’s never going to stop as it comes down to the fact if a mother doesn’t feel ready to have a child, doesn’t want one, or doesn’t want to doom it to a life of absolute crap they are going to have an abortion.

For every name you listed I can name one Christian as well in the same category. What’s your point? Those men did not kill because of their atheism. They just happened to be atheist. They didn’t kill in the name of atheism like Christianity and it’s followers did for COUNTLESS centuries to people of different faiths. Ironic how there’s no debate from Christians on the evil men being atheists but any time Einstein or someone of the likes is declared an atheist or agnostic it’s insanity. Then they throw in some quote where the man mentions god in some way as proof hey wasn’t an atheist as if atheist never say anything about god.

      • Shyster

I think you’re gay and neurotic, right? Explains your complete non-sensical response.

      • jonathan

What was so nonsensical about my response? It’s very basic stuff. Jesus loves you, unless you don’t love him. Which most of the world does not. 2 billion Christians out of 7+ billion humans. If you do not love Jesus, you go to Hell. According to the Bible at least. I think it’s all hilariously ridiculous. What possess you to throw out derogatory, homophobic phrases about someone you don’t even know? It’s generally what people do when they have nothing intelligent to say.

      • Gloria Bevan

I admit it. On the other hand, shut the fuck up, you dick.

      • You religious people cannot keep ducking the fact that what you say doesn’t make any fucking sense. Don’t say well now he said this but I didn’t say that . Own it, you are religiously deluded , get help. You are belching crap!

      • Karen Mitchell

That’s why they made the “rule” that it’s impolite to discuss religion; they can’t defend their position.

      • Jossi G.

HUH ? Go back and re-read my post. When did I suggest that someone did not “love jesus” ? I’m Catholic too.
        Read it s l o w l y this time, ok ?

      • Shyster

Sorry Jossi, didn’t mean to lump you in with the atheist creep Jonathan. But I don’t appreciate what the religious ‘right’ has done to religion these days. Don’t blame anyone for rejecting both religion and atheism. Ha!! It’s better to just pray to the holy trinity from home and your car.

      • jonathan

I’m a creep now as well? How so? How was anything I said not true according to your religion? Heck, I even agreed with half of your original comment. I love how you call people names while at the same time having really nothing meaningful to say. No history, no theology, no evidence, no facts. Just your opinions that have festered inside of a closed mind for years. Drop the creep, gay, neurotic terms and say something with actual substance.

      • Shyster

I bet you don’t believe in God because you can’t see him.

      • Karen Mitchell

Saying you believe in god, Christ, the holy spirit, etc. sounds just as guano psychotic as Robertson.

      • Shyster

Karen Mitchell…your response doesn’t deserve a stupid answer.

      • Guest

And I’m just now realizing you totally mis interperted my comment from the get go. I wasn’t referring to Robertson or any tool that spoke out against him. I was talking about JESUS HIMSELF. He loves you, unless you don’t live him. Thus you go to hell for all of eternity. That a sign of affection if I’ve ever seen one. Jesus Christ… OOPS damn, now I’m going to Hell unless I repent.

      • jonathan

I’m just realizing now my comment went totally over you head. My comment wasn’t about people who speak out against Robertson or Robertson himself. I was talking about JESUS. Because you know, he loves you unless you don’t love him. In that case he tortures you in Hell for all of eternity. A sign of affection if I’ve ever seen one. What a fucking joke you guys are.

      • and on and on and on till there are baby trolls.

That’s a great quote, but it was actually Denis Diderot, not Voltaire. 🙂

      • Bradley J. Timm

        Oh? I coulda swore…

      • Karen Mitchell

        Nope. It’s Diderot.

      • My favorite!

      • Joseph O Polanco

Correct me if I’m wrong but weren’t Danton, Lenin, Sanger, Than Shwe, Stalin, Mengele, Mao, Kim Il Sung, Ceausescu, Honecker, Castro, Pol Pot, Broz Tito, Milosevic, Bonaparte and Mussolini oppressive, sadistic, democidal atheists who, collectively, butchered ***hundreds of millions*** of innocent men, women and children?

      • Jim Craig

Joseph, any time those in power have gotten involved with religion or religions has been part of the power structure, bad things have happened. That is why the best solution is to keep them completely, unequivocally and permanently separate.

The people you’ve mentioned were also raving egomaniacal despots with unquenchable thirsts for power. Atheism has nothing to do with that. The only difference is that they didn’t justify their behavior by saying that God told them to do it.

Also, check the math. Millions? Yes. Tens of millions? Probably. Hundreds of millions? Not bloody likely.

      • Joseph O Polanco

Are you really trying to insinuate these worked alone? That they did not have the support of the citizenry they ruled over?

      • The history of Christianity is a history of their wars. One after another, slaughter after slaughter.

      • hermanprovi

It is written, that Jesus Christ said ” upon this rock, I build my Church”. Supposedly, he was addressing ‘St. Peter’ the FIRST Catholic Pope! How is it Max, that you can separate the two?

    • larry

I do agree with most of what you have said . I am a Christian I do believe . but as you have said most are false profits getting rich of people who have little . I think our countrys religious folks have forgotten the teaching in the bible take care of your own . not take care of number one. so to put it in a nut shell the Christians are not following the teachings if they did you would have a hard time doubting their was a god . I am sorry for being a poor example for god . you take care thank you for your thoughts as well.

    • Joann Harral

I am 81 and a follower of Jesus Christ, and your first problem is referring to Christianity as “religion”…It is a relationship with Him and has nothing to do with Pat Robertson or others of his ilk!

      • Religion is religion, don’t try to hide and say you are not a part of the grand delusion.

Yeah! You show those Christians what it’s really like to be a truly GOOD person… By wishing death upon them all… ???

Failure to grasp the concept much?

Yeah! You show those Christians what it’s really like to be a truly GOOD person… By wishing death upon them all… ???

Failure to grasp the concept much?

    • Gloria Bevan

      What a sweetheart.

  • Idontbelieveingod

When it comes to number 3, I think Native Americans and African Americans would beg to differ on that statement. And since when did telling people to STFU when it comes to them shoving their religion down your throat, persecution. If I choose not to hear it, then I shouldn’t have to. And since when did Christians become a minority?

    • CC

      So, so true.

  • Pitt90

Really, no one of any intelligence level beyond that of 5th grade listens to this man any more. He’s about irrelevant as you can get, and still be on TV.

  • Jack McDevitt

Until he actually tells people to go out and hurt others he has a right to air his NAZI-people h8ing-messed up- misogynist-crazy ideas… He has that right… It is hurtful and scares me a little bit, but it is his right… Sorry everyone.

    • CC

To play the devils advocate, what if some crazy person who follows him hears his message and hears it as go out and hurt others?

  • Lawrence Devine

Anyone who has ever heard Robertson speak must surely realize that he is unbalanced to say the least. Delusional individuals like him frequently claim a special connection to God.

  • Olivia

I would love to see sources of all the quotes above! I would share this article, but without citations do not want to. I believe he said these things, but sources please!

    • Linda Valentine-Dean

Go to YouTube, search Pat Robertson and put in part of any of the quotes. You will find all each and every last one of them, including the Aids spreading by a ring. Not to difficult to do.

    • lynette

they did a whole segment about him on Anderson cooper tonite on cnn.. they played all the audio recordings of him saying those things.. I bet u could find it online.. it’s all true.. he said every word 🙂

That’s an oft reported Gandhi misquote. What was actually said was: “Jesus is ideal and wonderful, but you Christians — you are not like him.” by Bara Dada and not by Gandhi.

I think it was Einstein that said that!!!!

      • slugsucker

        Actually it was Plato.

      • Granny Tenderstone

I am pretty sure he said it both ways Aaron. either way, it’s all Obama’s fault when people are misquoted, if you believe the reich wing that Robertson is a whore for.

      • No the first quote by Gandhi is correct.

      • Betsy Coddington-Galterio

Every thing that you say on this subject is negated by the fact that you feel the need to post an Obama Slur. Blame Daddy and Baby Bush, they started this mess.

      • CC

You missed the sarcasm in the statement.

      • Gloria Bevan

        She was being sarcastic, dummy.

      • quietone

How refreshing. Someone who didn’t get the sarcasm – sarcasm originating as a literary device used sparingly for better effect now used constantly to the point its become redundant and annoying – tho you did a good job of usage Granny. It was the one without guile who didn’t catch it. 🙂

    • Granny Tenderstone

suffice it to say, we must CEASE calling these types of people Christians. I am an actual Christian, and I am sick of being lumped in with the likes of these. These are NOT Christians, they are hypochristians at best, assholes, liars, political and money whores, bigots, haters, and everything else the good Lord was not. A FOLLOWER of Christ (the definition of Christian) must FOLLOW THE EXAMPLE of Christ. Ghandi was in fact the perfect example of a Christian’s PROPER BEHAVIOR, although he was a Hindu. I know frm a lifetime of study that most faiths ARE AS MUCH CHRISTLIKE as Christianity itself was meant to be. Not a single one of these miserable “people” will live in eternity alongside the good Lord. And yet, even THEY are eligible for the GRACE of FORGIVENESS if they just REPENT and stop their INHUMAN behavior. And as Christ told us, we MUST pray for and forgive, love and be kind to them as much as we can manage, not easy for any of us.

      • kelemvor

Thank you! “Hypochristian” is my favourite word of 2013!

      • Joseph O Polanco

I think “Antichrist” sums it best.

      • Darth Tirah

Anyone else smell a “No True Scotsman Fallacy”?

      • Karen Mitchell

        What’s that?

      • Jared Puente

No true Scotsman is an informal fallacy, an ad hoc attempt to retain an unreasoned assertion.[1] When faced with a counterexample to a universal claim, rather than denying the counterexample or rejecting the original universal claim, this fallacy modifies the subject of the assertion to exclude the specific case or others like it by rhetoric, without reference to any specific objective rule.

      • Gloria Bevan

        Umm, okay……huh?

      • Gary J Parker

exactly. Robertson is most definitely a christian, no doubt about that…

      • Joseph O Polanco

Only if you think there’s no difference between Monopoloy money and genuine legal tender.

      • Icono

        What is the difference, exactly?

      • Jared Puente

        logical fallacy. “no true scotsman”

      • Troy

Granny, I don’t lump you in with these nuts. I lump you in with all nuts that believe in things you can’t possibly know about. The questions you think you have the answers to are actually unattainable. Be content in ignorance, rather than fake knowledge which has no real basis to exist.

      • BK Anderson

Your ramblings are incoherent at best. I did enjoy your proclamations of being a “true christian” and “Christ like” right before you said they were asshole, whores etc etc. You delusional hypocritical dimwit! I’m glad it will just be you and those who act Christ like by your standards. The other miserable people are screwed. Did I mention what an ignorant tool you are?

      • James

Problem is that they say the same about you. No one is a “true” Christian it seems according to each Christian claiming that other Christians aren’t true Christians. So what is a “true” Christian these days? No one can agree on what a “true” Christian is. However people like Pat Robertson and his followers are why Christianity is on the decline in the US yet they refuse to see that..

  • Mark McRoberts

he is a bigot and facist!

  • wrestling Mom

Oh. My. GAWD. Pun intended. This man deserves not one second of our energy. It is sad, though, that he seems to still have a hold on a large portion of the elderly. Are his handlers WANTING him to look like an idiot?

I was reading this very article and missed my bus to the concentration camp where the evangelicals are being kept. Today is fried christian day, I was really looking forward to that. So thanks for distracting me. Jerk.

    • Karen Mitchell

Hahahaha!!! It’s funny because it’s true. I, too, loves me some fried christian!!!

  • GetReal

Dude Rush Limbaugh is still on the air, you think anyone is going to make a fuss out of Pat Robertson? The sheeple who watch him will happily continue to do so. The rest of the nation just shakes their head that we have a delusional old guy ranting on TV.

  • MamaG

And he owns a tv network

  • Geronimo

Remember ! He depends on “Love Offerings” to stay on T V.

  • GregMaxx

I have many family members who I have watched grow old and have noticed how their personalities have adapted to the passage of time. The nice ones have become nicer, are easy going and a pleasure to be with. On the other hand, the cynical ones have only become more cynical, judgmental, negative, irrational and over all, just downright mean at times. Wonder which way Pat has evolved?

    • Lee Donovan

Pat Has never evolved, because he doesn’t believe in evolution. 😉

  • Lynda Weissmann

I find frightening that there are so many who believe him, think like him, find his message an agreeable one. It is an ugly seed of evil that he nurtures and grows and tries desperately to implant in others. His ugliness reflects a form of social insanity that he and his ilk try to pass off as “Godly” but is as far from “love thy neighbor” as it is possible to get, without advocating, openly, stoning of “evil doers”. He is an insidious evil, infecting the foolish and mean spirited and ignorant.

  • wow

And what part of “it’s on TV” do you not understand? “if it bleeds, it leads” and “sex sells”
that’s what TV is all about….and Facebook for that matter. None of it’s real or accurate or worth your time.

  • AnnaMossity

C’mon! Why did you feel the need to cheat by having #2 be a quotation of part of #3??! SURELY this enfeebled viper has said plenty of other hateful, asinine things…

  • Kara O’Hara

Just wondering if anyone else sees the irony in his messages and the comments being left for this article? For all intents and purposes… nearly ALL of you make him sound less crazy. p.s. I’m not a supporter of his but I’m seriously reconsidering. Meaning… one hand = you call him crazy. other hand = you type messages about killing and hating Christians.

  • rlustig

God told me Robertson is a schizophrenic.

  • Religion is a mental disease. Robertson is just one of the most conspicuous examples of this fact.

  • Can you still get Pat Robertson dildos?

  • I like to listen to Pat while I’m fisting my christian bf and smoking reefer.

  • Jason A. Quest

What’s especially sad is that he also has moments of lucidity, when he says things that kinda make sense. But if anyone in his family or involved in his organization had any moral integrity, they would have taken this dementia patient off the air years ago. Continuing to *use* him like this – whether it’s for the money he brings in or their own delusion that it’s serving God somehow – is sadistic.

  • John Cross

I love #3. In fact, I am ordering my Christian Bath Soap made from real Christians right now…

  • Granny Tenderstone

God does speak to people. But those messages didn’t come fromt God, they came from a heart full of bigotry and hatred, in an attempt to blame everybody for everything that Robertson’s owners/pimps are most likely trying to achieve. If you consider mayhem and destruction an achievement. You know, like 9/11? an “achievement” of our reich wing, blamed on others who were their henchmen, not the planners of the thing. TheDick Cheney not only owns the guilt, he owns the companies hired to clean up his messes — after the companies he partially owns make the messes in the first place — such as the Gulf oil spill. NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS, The Satan Cheney profits from it, including five cents from EVERY GALLON OF GAS SOLD IN THE USA. But if some people like voting for whores and pimps and oppressors and demons, I guess that’s their choice, but all of them including the ones wearing the boots they lick should be in mental institutions. START INSTITUTIONALIZING REICH WINGERS AND THOSE WHO VOTE FOR THEM, they are are certifiably insane, and are SUICIDAL, HOMOCIDAL, for not only are they killing themselves, they are killing the earth and all that inhabits the earth as well. ONE REPUBLICAN VOTE in one’s lifetime (I admit I’ve voted republican in various offices about 3 times), each vote should equal a lifetime in an institution and/or hades.
But God forgives even those idiots.

  • Lusus Naturae

    You need an editor…

  • Moon_Panther13

Hopefully somebody will finally wise up and take this hateful CINO off the air. Oh and on the way out he can take that racist Pat “talk with your hands” Buchannan with him.

  • lobo214

Just five quotes? It had to have been extremely difficult just picking the the top five from at least thousands of insane comments.

  • lobo214

The first comment about the AIDS infecting ring is from a satire site, but it is so hard to tell considering the thousands of insane comment he utters on a daily basis.

    • John DeGraffenreid Jr.

No it’s not. I saw the video of him saying it. He really did say the thing about the AIDS ring. Trust me on this.

  • jonathan

Why does point 3 include point 2 within it? Couldn’t that have made one more point? Haha instead of just repeating yourself?

  • karhart1221

thank you for saying what I have been thn=inking for quite some time now!

  • Edward Baker

This sounds perfectly Rational to people that are as Fukked up as he is ….

  • gman

He’s nuts, but it is truthful a male airline steward who had AIDS early in the epidemic intentionally infected perhaps thousands of men in San Francisco in the early 1980s. I am not a fan of his, but I notice the DNC never says anything about Muslim terrorists threatening America (Al Qaeda this past week) only right-wing nutcases Americans who are in the fringes of lunacy.

    • gman

Don’t believe me? There was a book or two – at least – written about the foreign (French maybe?) handsome male airline steward – I am 51, it is common knowledge – young people don’t even know it is a pandemic where 3/4 of a million Americans have died of AIDS. Google it. Pat Robertson is nuts. No one with a brain takes him seriously, so why is the DNC posting this garbage?

  • MrWereman

    Truly sick shit.

  • MrWereman

    Truly sick shit.

  • E.Tate

when Pat Robertson first started on TV I didn’t like him now after all of these years I now know why this man is a hateful person and the worst part is he calls himself a Christian. He has forgotten that Jesus command us to love one another.

  • Joe the Juggler

“Pat Robertson, former Republican presidential candidate ”
Robertson never won the Republican nomination, so this bit is false. I agree he’s a nut who says lots of untrue things, but that doesn’t justify saying untrue things.

  • mickey

is that a religious program I’ve been watching all this time? I thought it was comedy central

  • Michael Doyle

He is on Television, because his organization pays for him to be on television.

  • Lyola M Roeske Shafer

Maybe he has an alternate god that speaks to him privately. Maybe it’s “God’s god” that is in touch with him.

  • Dick Marti

Doesn’t Robertson own that station? If he owns it, do you suppose that he will really get rid of himself?

  • Spammeplez

Many people believe him because most of us are trusting and honest folks. We don’t know how to deceive and are deeply trustworthy and honest, therefore we can’t possible believe that other people would deceive us.

  • Mr. Smith

With regard to this topic I ask my evangelical and conservative friends the same question.

“How many times can you be lied to before you don’t believe the liar anymore?”

  • G. W. Markle

    The Christian Dilemma:

The greatest threat to America, and indeed to the rest of world, at this point in history, comes from the staunch advocates of right wing ideology, and I must submit this warning to you: There is a grave problem with the right wing movement, in that; they seem to possess a distorted sense of entitlement. They’ve set themselves apart, and seem to think that their faith gives them the right to view the world from a platitude of conceit, through condescending eyes, and with a false sense of superiority. They actually believe themselves to be superior beings, with a manifest destiny and some strange notion that God is on their side. A people with a desire to conquer, under the false guise of Christianity, seeking to dominate in the name of Christ, their view of humanity being reduced to nothing more than a matter of “us” and “them”.

What they fail to realize is; if the Christ you believe in leads you to view other humans as lesser beings, then you are a follower of the anti-Christ. The plain
truth is; God doesn’t have a religion and God doesn’t discriminate. Any religion that professes to be the only true religion, or that they‘re special in the eyes of God preaches false doctrine. If the Spirit of God is truly with you, it will only be known by acts of “unconditional” love and charity. No religion can claim exclusive rights to God. He belongs to all that He has created, and to foster a belief in “us” and “them” is to divide humanity, not unite it.

And so it will be, in The End, that those who have set themselves apart from their fellow man will find that they have set themselves apart from God. The worth of a soul will only be measured by how much it has loved, nothing more, nothing less. Woe to those who have taken the widow’s mite and built castles and empires in His name. They have incurred a great accountability, their suffering will be unending.

Even Jesus will not claim to be Christian, but will only proclaim the glory of the Father. And when He returns they will shout: “Here we are Lord!” And He will respond: “I never knew you”. They have forsaken the Word and have become prisoners of the Numbers.

Those who have put themselves first will be last.

  • Robyn Kern

    He is a bigoted idiot.

  • shasmith95

he maybe on TV but is any one watching him? Probably the wrong ones. Can’t some one have him declared incompetent and removed from the earth? But a TV camera in front of him with no feed to the real world?

  • Humma Kavula

Robertson said, on January 16, 1991: “You say you’re supposed to be nice to the Episcopalians, the Methodists, the Presbyterians, and this, that and the other thing? Nonsense. I don’t have to be nice to the spirit of the Antichrist. You may tell me I have to love them, but that doesn’t mean that I have to be nice to them.”

  • Jesusholyofholies

Robertson is a holy man of god. Anybody and i mean ANYBODY that would say otherwise is going to hell. plain and simple. he is a prophet. THATS why he on tv

    • John DeGraffenreid Jr.

There’s a problem with that statement. None of Pat Robertson’s prophecies have come to pass; therefore, using Biblical standards, he is not a prophet. The Bible is very clear on that matter.

      • Jesusholyofholies

        your one of satans minons!

  • Vicky Bailey Rorrer

If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other.
    Mother Teresa

  • Edward Krebbs

According to the Bible, if what a so-called prophet says doesn’t come to pass, then they aren’t from God. The Bible also says to stone the false prophet.
Is Pat R making any plans to obey ?

  • Rob Tsilalad

Alright, these are some pretty good quotes, but you failed to host anything he said about the Haitian Earthquakes, and how they brought it upon themselves. I think that’s where he lost a lot of people.

  • Jared Puente

    “…and possibly a meteor.”

    GOLD 10/10 hahahahhaha

  • John DeGraffenreid Jr.

Allow me, if I may, to explain the main problem here as I see it; and this does come from a Christian perspective. There is a teaching within certain sects of Christianity called Dominionism. It’s the belief that the Church is supposed to take over every aspect of society and prepare it for the return of Jesus Christ. This teaching is a heresy. It is not in any way, shape or form in the Bible. The only command that the Disciples, and by extension the Church, was given was the Great Commission, which was to go out into the world and preach the Gospel.

Pat Robertson, and many Word of Faith preachers (many of whom are associated with TBN) are proponents of this teaching. It doesn’t matter to them that it hasn’t worked, and by all accounts isn’t going to work. They are convinced that this is their destiny and the destiny of the Church and therefore are fully committed to seeing it through no matter what. (The irony is that in setting up a one world religion they’re setting up the very thing that the Bible warns is coming in the Great Tribulation)

Anyway there are many Christians who do try and speak out against this teaching, but the problem is that the people who endorse it are the ones with all the broadcasting power. So it gets harder and harder to talk about the Gospel when the people who should be leading the way are too busy talking about politics when they should be talking about Jesus.

  • Curly

I like the designation “Kristians” to apply to those who pervert the message of the Gospels…

  • polliwogg

2014 will make the 4th year I have had this senile old goat on my Dead Pool list. When the heck is he going to die??

  • WhirledPeas For Me

What is that prayer “Dear Jesus save me from your followers.”

  • David P. Turnbole

Just take him off the airwaves and let sanity heal itself.

  • Tyler

Speaking as a politically conservative, born again, evangelical Christian myself…for the most part, to the mainstream evangelical community, Pat Robertson is like the crazy uncle that lives in the basement. You try to ignore him and hide him away, but once in a while he escapes and does something idiotic.

  • Mark

Robertson was probably even insane as a child but it is possible like most with severe mental illness that he got his first breakdown between ages 18-22.

Robertson is in fact psychotic. That simply means he is not thinking or living in a way of reality. The major problem is there are a lot of weak minded people out there, lonely, sick, old or having other problems in search of hope & in a fragile state they turn his show on, believe the BS he comes out with as factual then end up not only praying to something imaginary but also sending him money.

Oh, as I put my hands on your TV screen there is a woman out there right now with a lump in her left breast that is cancer. She is being healed & will get to the doctor in time and you know who you are as likely half of women watching have lumps I several are cancer of course so when they get treatment he gets credit regardless if they die or not. They are often likely to send in every dime they have to that loser bigoted nut.

He & Falwell caused much pain and suffering on the LGBT community & they bilked hundreds of millions of dollars out of poor people. Robertson has never EARNED a dime in his life. He simply has money handed to him by the weak & feeble minded. Those people are nuts too & like him should be hospitalized in a psychiatric ward.

Demons are as real as Santa or the Easter Bunny. It’s all fake just like the bible and every other so called religious book. No god, no satan no life after this one so that makes it very important to live this one life to the fullest. There is no heaven with prostitutes awaiting anyway. No male studs there waiting to provide christian orgasms either.

  • Seth Clark

Dude…. It’s Pat Fucking Robinson…. Is there seriously ANYONE out there that expects any less??? This doesn’t even qualify as news anymore… Just an old asshole that forgot his pants while he rants against anything that doesn’t conform to 1889 standards of “morality”… He’s a wash out, as “has been” a senile fart that passed his expiration date and smells like moldy cheese… Stop giving him credibility with posts like this!!! Just dismiss him with a wave along with his decrepit followers…. They’ll all be dead from old age soon, and we can get about life 🙂

  • Teresa Groves

Bad enough that this guy is insane But people – most of whom don’t have two nickels to rub together – keep sending him money. How crazy are THEY?

  • Lori

I have been a Christian for more than three decades. In my early years I watched his show regularly. He and his various ministries have done a lot of good but I think he says and teaches many wrong things. Now that he is so old he has no filter and says things that are outlandish. Even his co hosts have been surprised and disagreed with crazy and unbiblical things. Yes, why are they keeping him on TV? Because CBN is his empire. Perhaps he won’t let go and is pulling rank , or the other leaders in CBN don’t want to hurt his feelings. Regardless, I’m embarrassed by some of the things he says in the name of Christ. I suspect he’s impaired by the onset of dementia in some form. I won’t watch him. No public openness of finances is a red flag to me also.
