Fox News’ The Five Advocates Committing War Crimes, Denies Waterboarding is Torture (Video)

If you watch a lot of Fox News programming, you’ll quickly realize that the network often panders to the lowest common denominator of Americans. Many of the network’s shows are nothing more than reality TV-style conservative fan fiction. Since the 2016 election when Donald Trump became “president,” Fox News has basically become nothing more than his own version of state-run media. Knowing that this “president” spends hours every day watching their network, it’s fairly obvious Fox News does its best to produce content he’ll like so that he live-tweets about it while he’s watching.

It’s ridiculous.

Proving that there’s almost no low to which these lowlifes will not stoop, most of the hosts on Fox News’ The Five went all-in on torture Wednesday, actually denying that torture is, in fact, torture.

“I don’t think it’s very American to torture people and neither does John McCain who was tortured,” co-host Juan Williams said.

“Waterboarding is not torture,” fellow co-host Jesse Watters replied. “We’ve waterboarded correspondents here.”

“I don’t think that’s rational or sane,” an incredulous Williams shot back.

Williams then pointed out how the intelligence community has actually stated that they get more information from people when they don’t torture them, only for co-host Kimberley Guilfoyle to call victims of torture “real losers and real wimps… they are crybabies.”

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, this was an actual debate on a huge cable news network where most of the show’s hosts not only endorsed the use of torture, but some even denied that torture is actually torture.

This is what the right-wing’s become. They are literally advocating that the United States should commit war crimes.

If we’re going to start acting like those we oppose, throwing away any glimpse of the moral virtue we used to claim as Americans made us the “good guys,” then, in a lot of ways, that just makes us no better than the people we claim to oppose.

This country shouldn’t use torture, not just because it’s a war crime to do so, but because we’re Americans and we should be better than that.

At least we’re supposed to be.

But this is what Fox News and Donald Trump have turned millions of conservatives into. A bunch of people who claim to be “proud, patriotic Americans” who really don’t understand a damn thing about what true patriotism is or what’s truly great about this country.

As I’ve stated on many occasions, I believe history is going to look back upon this time with shame and disgust that there were so many people who defended and supported Donald Trump and today’s Republican Party.
