French TV Show Mocks Fox News’ Absurdity in Hilarious Skit (Video)

le-petit-journal-fox-news-1If you haven’t heard by now, Fox News hasn’t exactly had the best couple of weeks. Several of the lies they helped prop up following the terrorist attack in France were soundly debunked, the British Prime Minister has pretty much called them a joke and they were forced to issue several fairly humiliating public apologies because of their lousy reporting. They’re even apparently being sued by the city of Paris for damaging the city’s image.

Naturally, Jon Stewart of The Daily Show had his fun with it as well.

I’ve absolutely been loving it. Finally the b.s. Fox News constantly pulls here in the United States has been exposed and mocked relentlessly on an international stage. It really is a testament to how terrible the network is when something to which Americans have become numb (lies and misinformation pushed by Fox News) has been so soundly rejected by a prime minister, the mayor of Paris and international media entities.

Though from my experience talking with individuals from all over the world, Fox News has a fairly solid reputation internationally for being pretty terrible when it comes to reporting facts. It’s sad when “America’s most watched cable news channel” is a running joke internationally.

Well, for the second time, Fox News suffered the ire of French television show Le Petit Journal (sort of the French version of The Daily Show) when they sent two individuals (“Mike” and “John”) out on the streets of Paris to hilariously mock the network.

I’ll attempt to describe what’s in the video, but you really should watch it. The graphics and music that goes along with the graphics are almost exact replicas of the over the top nonsense you often see on Fox News.

Oh, and “John” comes fully equipped with a blond wig and an American flag pin.

In once scene they flag down a cab before realizing the driver has a beard therefore he must be out to kill them. The two quickly jump out from the taxi and proceed to “run for their lives.”

They then stroll down the street only to discover a “dangerous” couscous restaurant. “Oh my God, a couscous!” Mike yelled followed by a graphic reading “COUSCOUS ATTACK IN PARIS.”

“Paris is the most dangerous city in the universe,” John reported.

A few seconds later “BREAKING NEWS: MASSIVE ALERT” flashed across the screen as the two proceeded to act terrified of the “terrorist attack” that was commencing right in front of their eyes – which was actually only two construction workers using a jackhammer on the sidewalk.

“Run, Mikey run!” John exclaimed.

Trust me, the video is less than two minutes long and is definitely worth watching. I only hope that Le Petit Journal does a few more of these skits before all of this international attention focused on Fox News dies down, because they’re absolutely hilarious.

Fox seems to be the most visible and the most blatant at pushing lies, dishonesty, b.s., and inflammatory “misspeaking”, but msnbc is the opposite end of the same stick. Our media has turned into a joke, period. None of them seem to be committed to factual reporting with no agenda.
Americans have been lied to by the media and politicians so much and so often, we no longer have any idea what is really true.
Why is the media not legally required to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth?
    We deserve better

you’re right, and the sad thing is that when they lied about other countries, those countries jumped right up and called bs, for some reason no one does that here. Imagine all the lawsuits that could be filed against them here, lol

Knowing how the conservative side has long painted the French as “Surrender Monkeys” because they didn’t join us in illegally invading Iraq and how we waved the flag by renaming potatoes as “Freedom Fries”

Oh how delicious (and how it must hurt) that they have been so ridiculous that the French are painting Faux News as being a bunch of imbeciles (and with good reason too.)
