Glenn Beck Claims Scalia’s Death Was God’s Wake Up Call to Americans to Vote for Ted Cruz (Video)

glenn-beck-ted-cruz-scaliaIt’s no secret that today’s Republican party has built a large part of its base by manipulating the religious right in a blatant attempt to use religion to control large masses of people. Which, by the way, goes against the very nature of our Constitution and what our Founding Fathers wanted.

Ironically, perhaps no one predicted the current state of the modern-day GOP better than Republican Barry Goldwater did decades ago when he said:

Mark my word, if and when these preachers get control of the [Republican] party, and they’re sure trying to do so, it’s going to be a terrible damn problem. Frankly, these people frighten me. Politics and governing demand compromise. But these Christians believe they are acting in the name of God, so they can’t and won’t compromise. I know, I’ve tried to deal with them.

Think what you want about Goldwater, but he was spot-on with this prediction. Especially considering candidates like Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio have managed to become top three candidates largely by pandering to radical right-wing voters – the very same people to which Goldwater was referring.

One of the “leaders” of these radical religious fanatics is none other than Glenn Beck. A person who essentially fancies himself as some sort of modern-day prophet. Though I think he’s nothing but a con man using religion to become very… very rich. For the record, in case you were wondering, “Mr. Christian” Glenn Beck is worth $250 million.

Well, Beck once again proved how unstable he is when he recently suggested that God allowed Scalia to die in a calculated attempt to wake Americans up so that they will elect Ted Cruz as our next president:

“I just woke the American people up. I took them out of the game show moment and woke enough of them up to say, look at how close your liberty is to being lost. You now have lost your liberty. You replace one guy and you now have 5-4 decisions in the other direction. Just with this one guy, you’ve lost your liberty so you’d better elect somebody that is going to be somebody on the court because for the next 30 years, if you don’t, the Constitution as you know it is gone.”

“The Constitution is hanging by a thread. That thread has just been cut and the only way that we survive now is if we have a true constitutionalist.”

Irony: A man who votes for a party that claims they’re going to ignore the Constitution for the next year, saying he supports Republicans doing that – so that Republican can hopefully elect a president who’ll uphold the strict guidelines of the Constitution.

Nothing says “I respect the Constitution” quite like ignoring it whenever it doesn’t support what you want it to.

And being that Beck has endorsed Ted Cruz, when he talks about electing a “true constitutionalist” he’s talking about the Texas senator.

So, let me get something straight. God didn't do anything to prevent Barack Obama from winning in 2008, or winning re-election in 2012, but allowed a man to die several months away from the 2016 election to "wake up" Americans to the dangers of possibly electing another Democrat to the White House? Why wouldn't God have just prevented the economic crash, while making Iraq peaceful and safe, so that Republicans would have likely won in 2008 - keeping Democrats out of the White House altogether?

Wait, am I using logic and rational thoughts to try to understand an irrational madman? Sorry about that.

The bottom line is, this country cannot allow Republicans to win in November. We are literally one election away from potentially saving women's rights, health care, gay rights and efforts to combat climate change for decades. All we have to do is get out there and vote. Because if we don't, Republicans will, and we're going to end up with either President Trump, President Cruz or President Rubio and a Congress strongly in the hands of the Republican party for the foreseeable future.

If that happens, the damage they will do is going to set this country back decades.
