GOP Congressman Slams Ted Cruz’s ‘Outrageous’ and ‘Inappropriate’ Stunt at Christian Event

ted-cruz-foolIn his short time in Congress, Texas Senator Ted Cruz has made quite the name for himself as someone who often acts absolutely ridiculous. My belief is that he ran for office not to govern, but to set up a presidential run in 2016. And judging by his behavior since he was elected, that’s exactly what he seems to be doing.

So when I saw where he staged a ridiculous rant during a Middle Eastern Christians event, I wasn’t at all surprised.

His remarks were so absurd, even a fellow Republican has called out the Texas senator for comments he called “outrageous and incendiary.”

Rep. Charlie Dent (R-Pa.) said, “I support Israel, but what Senator Cruz did was outrageous and incendiary. He showed a true lack of sensitivity for the people he was speaking to, especially the religious leaders who were there. It was a political speech, inappropriate and, overall, an uncomfortable moment.”

“He was speaking to people outside of the building,” Dent continued. “It was a willful and deliberate confrontation, and very self-serving.”

I couldn’t agree more.

Cruz knew exactly what he was doing when he gave this speech. Heck, he probably knew more or less what he was going to say when he accepted the speech. He used this opportunity as nothing more than excuse to pander to radical right-wing tea party Christians.

See, Cruz is one of those people who believe Israel is infallible. Whereas many Middle Eastern Christians have issues with the Israeli government because they claim their policies make it harder on Christians living in the Middle East. People like Cruz act as if any criticism of Israel means you’re anti-Semitic. Because he lives in a world where logic and common sense do not exist.

The reality is, it’s entirely possible to criticize some of Israel’s policies without being anti-Semitic. The world isn’t black and white. There’s a lot of gray in between. But in the world in which Ted Cruz lives, where you’re pandering to the most ignorant among us, moderation doesn’t exist.

In his world, you’re either unequivocally, and without question, for Israel – or you’re an anti-Christian, Jew-hating heathen.

I’ll at least give Cruz credit for proudly putting on full display the true ignorance of the typical right-wing tea party Republican.

Ted Cruz will NEVER be President of the US, NEVER.

Ted Cruz can’t be POTUS, birthers would rip him apart.

      • forpeace

Birthers are intellectually and educationally challenged.

They don’t even know “Orly Taitz” the President of “Birther Circus Clowns” wasn’t even born in U.S!
She was born in Moldavian SSR in the Soviet Union (present day Moldova).

      • Speely

Nah, birthers only care about whether Democrats are born in America or not. They’d happily give Ted Cruz a pass.

      • Skyhollower

Cruz supposedly renounced his Canadian Citizenship because he didn’t know he had it?!?. I guess if you didn’t know you had it, it didn’t exist and therefore the birthers wouldn’t be able to rip him apart. The problem with that theory is of course he was still born in Canada. My dad was an American Army Officer born in Idaho, Mom German, me born in Germany. I was naturalized when I was 7. I guess my big question is was Cruz Naturalized? If so then he can’t run. If he wasn’t naturalized should he have been? If so, is he then an illegal immigrant and we can deport him back to Canada?

      • Sensible gal

you should not have needed to be naturalized.

      • Bryan Scott Langley

Will you people actually use Google once in a while?! Ted Cruz is perfectly able to run for president because his mother is a natural born US citizen. That’s the minimum requirement if born out of country, that at least one parent be a natural born US citizen at the time of birth.

    • Sensible gal

never say never, people thought Hitler was a harmless kook when he started out

  • Mainah

    The guy is insane.

The real issue is that he and his far right Christian Teabots refuse to recognize the Jewish take over in Palestine is not “Jew vs. Muslim,” it is “Zionist vs. Arab.” The Palestinians are a mixed religious bag and Cruz is an idiot.

  • forpeace

The Canadian Ted Rafael Cruz is anti-American, pathological liar, and an opportunist. No wonder he became the Koch Brothers and Tea Party’s darling.

Ted Rafael Cruz only cares for himself and for no one else. That’s why he will say and do anything to become the POTUS. Good news is that he has a zero chance of ever becoming the POTUS.

He still owes American taxpayers 24+ billion for shutting down the government to build his Fundraising Lists.

Just deport him and his pastor father either to Canada, or to Cuba.

    • TaxPaying American Voter

      Or Gitmo.

    • Libero

      Just stop there, for peace,
No way is Ted Cruz coming back to Canada. You groomed him into a tea-bagger. Keep him.

      • forpeace

        Not so fast Libero.
You like or not, Canada is Ted Cruz’s birthplace, according to NAFTA we can always reject and return the infected products.

We didn’t groomed him into a tea-bagger, it is in his DNA.

      • Libero

We don’t have a tea-party brand in Canada. He will be jobless and Foxless.
He was approved by the FDA. You modified him. You can’t return him. Is too late.

  • Mark Bigger

Cruz was right on! This country does not need republicans bashing other republicans. To be a Christian means to love everyone-FACT

    • Lisa Lind

Let’s see…if you LOVE the Israeli war machine then, and ONLY then, you are a Christian? Ridiculous! It is time Israeli aggression was totally shut down and they need to be happy with the part of the world that was carved out of other countries!

    • Fred S.

Did it ever occur to you that there are a number of Christian Palestinians that have been displaced and rendered homeless in Gaza thanks to the heavy handedness of Israel? They are not all “evil” Muslims there. The crowd Cruz spoke to knew this and that’s why they booed him off the stage.

  • John Gannett

Deport him and his father back to Cuba

    • TheLastOfTheFinest80

      You mean Canada?

  • rossbro

    Ted Cruz, the Texas Turd.

  • OpenMinded

Its shocking how many people actually think the way this idiot does. If you criticize Israel or any of her policies, you’re an anti-Semite. If you criticize America or any of her policies, you’re un-American. How are we supposed to move forward, both as a nation, and as a race, if there are never any criticisms?

    • Speely

Only if you criticize Republican policies are you un-American. It’s 100% within the American spirit to criticize Democratic policies, though.

Remember during 2001-2008, when simply saying something negative about the President was tantamount to treason? Yeah, what the hell happened to that? It disappeared the moment a black Democrat was sworn in.

I remember after the infamous Dixie Chicks concert I got into an argument with someone. I stated that people have the right to disagree with a president. Every president is going to have some views or actions that some people won’t agree with. The public has the right to express their dissatisfaction with elected officials. I was told by this conservative that, no, the office of the president deserved respect, and that meant not complaining about the views or actions of the official. Funny how the office required respect when there was a conservative in the position but now it is patriotic duty to say things like “He’s just an overgrown ape.” Disagreeing with stances used to be unpatriotic and disrespectful to the office, yet now mocking every aspect of the person in office is the duty of every freedom loving American.

      • OpenMinded

I can remember having the same kind of conversations. It was like in their minds, W was appointed by the Lord himself, while somehow Obama snuck in under the radar? I’ll never quite understand how the conservatives think, I’m afraid. And they don’t seem to care to understand the liberals at all, preferring to demonize any and every liberal stance. I hate to say it, but I’m not sure how a political reconciliation will happen in this country.

      • Cemetery Girl

Like any other attempts to get along it will take rational discussion. I have always labeled myself as democrat or liberal, although progressive is more spot on (I’m not registered as anything but bring back Roosevelt style Bull Moose party and I’d register.) I have friends that are conservative and/or republican. We can discuss politics and it not turn into WWIII. On the other hand, I have family that is addicted to the Fox, Beck, Rush koolaid and there is no discussion with them. Not all conservatives/republicans are like them (just like not all liberals/democrats are ultra PC vegans).

Please republican God make this moron your 2016 presidential candidate. Let Bernie Sanders or Elizabeth Warren crush this idiotic jackass.

    Cruz is amentia……….

  • Wayne White

How about including his comments in these articles? I detest the guy, but “reporting” such as this is as amateurish and biased as that of Fox News.

    • forpeace

This is exactly what Ted Rafael Cruz said:

“Tonight, we are all united in defense of Christians,” Cruz said. “Tonight, we are all united in defense of Jews. Tonight, we are all united in defense of people of good faith, who are standing together against those who would persecute and murder those who dare disagree with their religious teachings.”

“ISIS, al-Qaida, Hezbollah, Hamas, state sponsors like Syria and Iran, are all engaged in a vicious genocidal campaign to destroy religious minorities in the Middle East,” Cruz said. “Sometimes we are told not to loop these groups together, that we have to understand their so called nuances and differences, but we shouldn’t try to parse different manifestations of evil that are on a murderous rampage through the region. Hate is hate, and murder is murder. Our purpose here tonight is to highlight a terrible injustice, a humanitarian crisis.”
“Christians have no greater ally than Israel,” he said, and the crowd turned on him.

      • Fernando

It is religion that is the root of all evil. Let us not forget the Inquisition, the Conquistadors, the ‘christian Monarchs of Spain that had many murdered because they would not accept the faith, Hitler was a ‘christian’ and said so, the pseudo islamists, who are also using religion to murder innocents!
The history of the world is rife with man using one “god”or another to justify killing!

How come if I hover over your avatar or moniker it doesn’t show a profile like other posters? I’m just curious because I have seen few similar posters on this site.

      Thank you!

He has a dominionist theology, his father is bat guano crazy and the nut didn’t fall far from the tree.Watch one of his fathers sermons and you’ll see just how dangerous they are, zealot religious extremists in America.Their entire religious doctrine depends on a world war starting in the middle east. His father killed people for Castro then fled when it looked like Batista was winning, coward turned grifter christian minister,Carnival Cruz is even worse because he actually shut down the entire government..Terrorist threats scare you?The enemy is within..
