Whenever I think of Sarah Palin I think of the line from the show Seinfeld where George Castanza says, “Jerry, just remember, it’s not a lie if you believe it.” That’s the mindset I think Sarah Palin lives with every day. She’s bought into her own lies and propaganda so much that deep down she honestly believes it.
Which is probably why she’s yet again calling for President Obama’s impeachment. Though this time it’s for adhering to a law that was signed in 2008 by George W. Bush. You know, the law that states we can’t simply deport immigrants from non-contiguous countries.
She claims that President Obama is willfully ignoring our laws on immigration in a deliberate attempt to encourage illegal immigrants to come here.
In her article, Palin wrote of the recent immigration crisis on our border, “It’s time to impeach; and on behalf of American workers and legal immigrants of all backgrounds, we should vehemently oppose any politician on the left or right who would hesitate in voting for articles of impeachment.”
I always love how she claims President Obama isn’t securing our borders, when he’s deported more undocumented immigrants than any president in United States history.
So, how can someone be “encouraging illegal immigration” while at the same time deporting more undocumented immigrants than any other president that came before him? That makes absolutely no sense.
But what would a good Palin rant be without a little racism mixed in. She also wrote, “Many now feel like strangers in their own land. It’s the American worker who is forced to deal with Obama’s latest crisis with our hard-earned tax dollars while middle class wages decrease, sustainable jobs get more scarce, and communities become unrecognizable and bankrupted due to Obama’s flood of illegal immigration.”
In other words, “White people should be very mad.”
Though the most comical part of her entire rant is she’s calling for Obama’s impeachment based on a law that was signed under President George W. Bush on how we must deal with immigrants from non-contiguous nations.
So she’s complaining about Obama not following the law – when he’s following the law.
And possibly the saddest part is she wrote this exclusively for Breitbart.com. One of the most ridiculous, biased, trash peddling right-wing websites out there. It’s basically a slight step above Infowars.
Which just goes to show you the type of audience to which she was pandering. The most paranoid, delusional, misinformed of the conservative base.
Nothing like writing an op-ed you apparently want people to take seriously, while doing so exclusively for a website almost nobody takes seriously.
If Sarah Palin thinks her vision for America is so great, why hasn’t she run for another office? Oh, I know, because nobody wants her to represent this country. Heck, she’s not even that popular in Alaska anymore.
Outside of the far-right conservative base, everyone knows she’s an idiot. Unfortunately for all of us, that far-right base is what controls the tea party, so she still has influence.
But there is a bright side to all of this. The more Sarah Palin gets exposure, writing asinine articles such as this, the more out of touch it makes the Republican party appear.
