Normally I wouldn’t waste my time writing an article such as this because there are more important issues going on in the world other than a senator “liking” a tweet from an adult website, and because I simply don’t care.
However, seeing as this is “ultra evangelical Christian” Senator Ted Cruz we’re talking about here, a gutless hypocrite who’s built much of his political career around trying to force his religious views on others, trying to violate the rights of women, and being staunchly anti-LGBT, I felt compelled to address this “scandal.”
For those reading who might not know the details, very late Monday night/early Tuesday morning, Sen. Cruz’s Twitter account “liked” a post from an extremely explicit adult account. I was actually still awake when this “news” broke, and the first thing that went through my mind was that he’d either blame this on a hack or someone on his staff.
Well, a few hours later, as I anticipated, Cruz blamed his staff.
“There are a number of people on the team who have access on the account. It appears that someone inadvertently hit the like button. When we discovered the post, which was I guess an hour or two later, we pulled it down,” Cruz said. “It was a staffing issue. And it was inadvertent, it was a mistake. It was not a deliberate act. We’re dealing with it internally, but it was a mistake. It was not malicious.”
Yeah, I’m not buying that, and neither should anyone reading this.
You see, Cruz has two different Twitter accounts: @SenTedCruz and @TedCruz.
While I’m not saying Cruz is lying when he says members of his staff have access to both accounts, it’s obvious by the types of posts on each account that he uses @TedCruz (the account that “liked” the explicit tweet) for personal posts, while the @SenTedCruz seems to be used more for general political tweets which are often posted by staffers.
When asked if the “staffer” in question would still have access to the account, Cruz said that was “still being discussed.”
Again, I couldn’t care less if Cruz did personally “like” this tweet. My issue with the Texas senator goes back to what a lying, two-faced hypocritical weasel he is. Someone who’s claimed that women shouldn’t be able to control their own bodies, or gay Americans shouldn’t have equal rights, because, you know — religion.
Not only did Cruz urge states to ignore the Supreme Court’s ruling when it struck down bans on same-sex marriage, but he once said that those who support the Constitutional right for women to control their own bodies chant “Hail, Satan!” to silence their critics. This is also the same lowlife who endorsed and supported Donald Trump, the man who tried to slander his father and essentially called his wife ugly.
So, no, I don’t believe that a staffer was accessing his personal Twitter account late into the night and just happened to “like” an explicit tweet from some random adult account. Will we ever know the truth? No, probably not. We have no way to know if Cruz is lying, and I have no proof that he is in this case. All I’m saying is that, based on what I know about Cruz, and what a dishonest hypocrite he is (the track record has been proven), I find it incredibly difficult to believe that someone on his staff was messing around on his personal Twitter account — at that time of the night. That doesn’t make a whole lot of sense. Especially when you consider that nothing was actually tweeted or retweeted during that time, so a staffer would have had no reason to be on that account.
Once again, I could not care less that someone was obviously looking at explicit adult material online late at night. I simply don’t believe that this was someone on his staff who “liked” this tweet. I have a sneaking suspicion it was Ted Cruz, himself. A shameful man who is, in my opinion, the epitome of fake, hypocritical conservative “Christianity.”
And, quite honestly, I’m enjoying the fact that this embarrassing incident has temporarily knocked this hypocrite off his “moral high horse.”
