By now I’m sure most people have heard all about this Jade Helm conspiracy nonsense. It basically comes down to a bunch of crazies who think a military exercise taking place over the southwest is all a nefarious plot by President Obama to invade Texas and declare martial law. There have been reports where people are literally burying their guns out of fear that they’ll soon be confiscated.
It really is a sad day in this country when the tinfoil hat people are now apparently a sizable force within the Republican party.
As this exercise begins there’s going to be a “watchdog” group referring to itself as “Operation Counter Jade Helm” that’s going to be shadowing members of our military – because, of course. Naturally, this band of crazies has a leader, Arizona resident Pete Lanteri.
As you might expect, as news of this group spread across the Internet, their Facebook page was bombarded by liberals mocking the insanity of those who honestly believe that Jade Helm is a plot by President Obama to invade Texas. Apparently angered by an influx of “trolls” commenting on his page, Lanteri shut it down.
He then went on to write that he “can’t wait to kill thousands” of “these f*cks libs, conspiracy nuts and 90% of these useless f*cking Americans.”
You see, it wasn’t just liberals making fun of his ridiculous group. Apparently quite a few folks even crazier than he is were visiting the page declaring that he was, in fact, a government operative.
Still, it’s one thing to be annoyed about something, it happens to all of us – it’s quite a different matter altogether to lash out in a fit of rage and declare your desire to kill “useless Americans.”
Who says something like that?
Well, during an interview with Fox News radio host and founder of Liberaland Alan Colmes, he offered a ridiculous explanation as to why he made such a disgusting comment.
“I admit I wrote it, and I admit it was stupid, and guess what? I was hotheaded,” Lanteri told Colmes.
Yes, his excuse for declaring his desire to kill about 90 percent of “useless Americans” is because he apparently can’t control his rage. Now, I don’t know about you all, but isn’t someone admitting that they are a “hothead” who says things like “I want to kill useless Americans” when angry probably someone who shouldn’t be allowed to own guns?
What if this were a group comprised of Muslims “monitoring the behavior of the U.S. military” who had its leader declare in a fit of rage “I can’t wait to kill useless Americans” – wouldn’t Fox News and the conservative media be flipping out right about now?
I think if we’re going to have the debate over gun violence and mental health, one thing both sides should agree upon is that anyone who has severe anger issues, leading to them to publicly declare their desire to kill Americans, should be some of the first people who have their guns taken away from them.
