Joe Scarborough Hilariously Rips Trump’s Lawyer for Not Understanding the First Amendment

Most rational people know that Donald Trump is an incompetent, unhinged buffoon. Even though he currently calls the White House home, it’s clear by his behavior that he’s not mentally capable of understanding what being “president” actually means.

So it shouldn’t surprise anyone that “The Donald” doesn’t remotely understand the Constitution — especially the First Amendment. To see Trump whine and criticize the press, it’s obvious he has a strong disdain for that whole “freedom of the press” thing. Then again, most dictators do. The biggest difference is, unlike his pal Vladimir Putin, Trump doesn’t have the ability to order the government to turn our media outlets into state-run propagandists for his administration.

Clearly, Trump’s inability to control the media is driving him even more mad than he already was. Hardly a day goes by where he doesn’t go on Twitter to whine like a petulant child about something he saw during the several hours per day he apparently watches Fox News.

Well, on Tuesday, MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow announced that she had been given two pages from Trump’s 2005 tax return. While the documents themselves aren’t anything that matter a great deal (in fact, many people feel Trump “leaked” them himself to create a distraction), that didn’t stop our “Commander-in-Chief” from claiming that reporting on these documents was “illegal” — even though it wasn’t.

One of the people who, like myself, thinks Trump’s the one who “leaked” these documents is MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough. On Wednesday morning, Scarborough sent out the following tweets:

Fairly basic, right? Scarborough is a journalist who, like many others, has expressed his opinion that Trump was the person who allowed these documents to become public, even though he’ll obviously never admit to that.

However, Scarborough’s tweets didn’t go unnoticed as Trump’s personal attorney, Michael Cohen, sent a direct threat to the MSNBC host:

Clearly Mr. Cohen, like Donald Trump, doesn’t seem to understand how the First Amendment works or that, as “president,” he’s not awarded the same protections as a private citizen. This is a funny threat coming from the lawyer representing someone who pushes all sorts of conspiracies against people without proving a single shred of evidence to back up anything he says. According to Cohen’s logic, if Trump could legally go after Scarborough, then someone like Barack Obama could do the same thing to him.

However, like a true bully, Trump has the mindset that he can say or do whatever he wants to other people, but is often the biggest crybaby whenever someone pushes back.

Needless to say, Scarborough didn’t take Cohen’s threat lying down, hilariously ripping the ridiculous tweet:

It’s pretty bad when you have to point out how the First Amendment works to the personal attorney for the “president.”

We need to see more members of the media calling out Trump’s cons, talking about his b.s., and responding to these sorts of ridiculous threats or attacks. The best way to deal with a bully is to stand up and push back against them. When you do that, you take away their power, and they quickly show what cowards they truly are.

And make no mistake about it, Donald Trump is a spineless coward who’s made a career out of trying to bully those he feels are weaker than he is. As we’re seeing, millions of people all over this country are standing up to our Bully-in-Chief and it’s driving him and his fragile ego crazy.
