While most people reading this are probably well aware that Kellyanne Conway is one of Donald Trump’s most consistent liars, conspiracy pushers, and advisors, what many might not know is that her husband is actually a fairly vocal anti-Trump critic.
Well, during an interview Sunday morning, CNN’s Dana Bash asked Conway about her husband’s tweets criticizing this “president” for many of the very same things she defends him on.
“What is up with your husband’s tweets?” Bash asked.
“It’s fascinating to me that CNN would go there, but it’s very good for the whole world to have just witnessed that it’s now fair game — how people’s spouses and significant others may differ with them,” Conway replied defensively. “That should really be fun.”
She then tried to claim that Bash — who is a woman, by the way — was being sexist by asking her that question.
Conway also accused the CNN host of trying to “harass and embarrass” her.
Anyone who takes a few moments to watch the exchange can tell this was mostly a lighthearted question that Conway went completely off the rails over simply because she was desperate to turn the tables on Bash to avoid having to answer for her husband’s rather critical statements on Trump.
Though I did laugh at Conway’s accusation that Bash’s question was sexist. I’m not sure how any rational person could see that question as sexist.
Especially when it’s a valid thing to ask.
Seeing as Conway has become rather infamous for her often ridiculous defenses for Trump’s never-ending inexcusable behavior, a lot of people have wondered how she does what she does while being married to someone who clearly knows like the rest of us that this “president” is an unfit, dishonest, possible/probable criminal who has absolutely no business holding that office.
It’s one thing to have a slight difference of opinion on a few political issues, or even have conflicting ideologies. However, it’s quite another to be one of Trump’s top propagandists while being married to someone who not only doesn’t support him — but calls him out publicly for the lies, conspiracies, and horrible things he does.
The bottom line is, the only reason Conway became defensive and hostile is because Bash asked a completely valid question she clearly didn’t want to answer. And just like her boss, Conway’s tactic whenever faced with a question she either doesn’t want to answer, or simply can’t answer, is to desperately try to create a distraction, attack the people asking it, and push some sort of ridiculous propaganda trying to paint herself as the victim.
