I could probably write a book based on nothing more than absurd comments Kellyanne Conway has made while giving interviews. A woman who repeatedly proves that she has no shame, there really doesn’t seem to be a level to which she will not stoop to defend the never-ending circus known as the Trump administration.
Such as Thursday morning when she had a bit of a meltdown after a usual safe haven for Republicans, Fox & Friends, asked her why Donald Trump has yet to make any sort of public comment concerning the allegations that GOP senate candidate Roy Moore had sexually abused multiple women when they were underage.
“The president will make a statement when he wants to make a statement. And none of us should get ahead of that,” Conway said.
“I do find that the mainstream media want to talk about this issue more than almost anything else,” Conway added, before whining about how more people aren’t talking about the GOP’s tax plan.
Nothing like a member of this administration complaining because the media wants to talk about the possibility that our next United States Senator from Alabama could very well be a child molester.
What’s ironic about her complaint is that part of this story the media is focused on is the fact that her boss continues to avoid addressing this scandal publicly. Nothing like throwing a hissy fit over the media asking why the “President” of the United States, the leader of the party of which Roy Moore is a member, won’t make any sort of public comment concerning allegations that her sexually assaulted women when they were as young as 14.
If Trump publicly spoke out against Moore, aggressively pushing him to drop out of the race, then that might change the narrative of this story. It certainly would put an end to questions from the media regarding Trump’s stance on the issue. So it’s pathetic that Conway is trying to attack the media for asking legitimate questions about Trump’s lack of a public comment concerning extremely serious allegations against a member of his party.
Though nothing Conway says should surprise anyone. While Trump is definitely someone who gets the most attention for being a lowlife scumbag without any ethics or morals, I think an argument could be made that Conway is just as bad.
This is a woman who, while working for Sen. Ted Cruz’s campaign, attacked Trump for many of the very same things on which she now defends him. It’s hard to take the sincerity of someone seriously when they once criticized Trump’s behavior during presidential debates, his refusal to release his tax returns, and his overall mental fitness for office — but they now defend him against those who currently continue to criticize him for those very same things.
As I’ve said plenty of times before, I really hope when history looks back on this time in our nation’s history, the people who helped defend the national embarrassment known as the Trump administration are mentioned right alongside him. Because without their shameless help, he would have never made it as far as he did.
