Sometimes I wonder what Rush Limbaugh would have to do in order to get conservatives to finally say, “Enough is enough, he has to go.” This guy doesn’t even hide the fact that he’s a racist, sexist, hate-filled bigot. But despite it all, he’s still a popular fixture with conservatives because “he sure as heck hates them filthy liberals.”
That’s basically the measuring stick when it comes to conservatives. You can say pretty much anything as long as you hate the right people.
Well, Limbaugh took it up a notch when he called the Twitter campaign #BringBackOurGirls “pathetic.” It’s a hashtag campaign aimed at increasing the public’s awareness about the 300 Nigerian girls who were kidnapped by Boko Haram.
Limbaugh said, “I just think this is pathetic. I’m just stunned. We got 300 Nigerian girls kidnapped by an Al Qaeda group, and nobody cared or talked about it for a while, Hillary wouldn’t call ‘em a terror group. Now all of a sudden, for some reason, we’re on a big push to get ‘em back and this is how? ”
Of course what really triggered this ignorant tirade was a photo Michelle Obama took of her holding a sign reading “#BringBackOurGirls.” Because, you know, scumbags like Limbaugh really have to politicize everything.
Oh, but then it got better.
Limbaugh then said, “I want to ask you, what message does this send? And then I want to ask you, is the United States really this powerless? And then if you answer yes, we are really this powerless, then isn’t Obama to blame?”
Yes, that’s Rush Limbaugh suggesting that because this happened, and the United States hasn’t been able to get them back yet, that it’s somehow Obama’s fault for making us “powerless.”
Of course the social media awareness push isn’t going to directly help rescue those poor girls. It’s just something people are doing to try to make more people aware of a horrific situation happening in another country that most weren’t aware was going on.
But that doesn’t matter for a bottom-feeder like Rush Limbaugh. He saw a photo of Michelle Obama holding this sign and just couldn’t help himself, he had to attack the movement and try to twist it into some kind of political jab at the Obama administration.
These people who continue to give this pathetic excuse for a human being any kind of support should be absolutely ashamed of themselves.
