Limbaugh Makes an Absolute Fool Out of Himself Trying to Bash Liberals Because of Nate Silver’s Predictions

While Nate Silver is fairly well known to people inside of the world of politics, I highly doubt the  average American has heard of him.  To put it simply, Nate Silver is probably one of the most credible statisticians inside the world of politics.  He uses math to analyze who he thinks will win elections, and he’s been pretty damn good at it.

Recently he said that Republicans have a 60% chance at winning control of the Senate this November.  A number I’ve argued liberals should be terrified of because Mr. Silver is extremely credible.  He’s also someone many conservatives have attacked for producing “liberally biased” information whenever he said things like President Obama was headed for an easy victory over Mitt Romney.

So it comes as a little bit of a shock to see Rush Limbaugh trying to defend Mr. Silver because liberals are hypocritically attacking his “prediction.”

And yes, I said liberals are being hypocrites.  You can’t say someone’s information is credible, trust that what they say has a good probability of happening when it supports your side, then believe they’re full of crap simply because suddenly they say something with which you happen to disagree.

Take Limbaugh.  He was one of the many conservatives who bashed “liberal polling” during the 2012 presidential elections when almost all data said that Obama was going to win easily (Silver’s data was some of the most credible).  Yet now here he is, defending him because liberals have attacked him for saying Republicans have a good chance at winning the Senate.

Here, take a listen to Limbaugh tearing into Silver’s credibility right before the 2012 election:

Now here he is in the present day trying to defend him.  Limbaugh said, “Nate Silver must now be disenfranchised and thrown to the wolves because he is not furthering the cause. And they don’t care how many lies or distortions are necessary to further the cause because all of liberalism is a lie. All of liberalism is a distortion.”

The stupidity of these comments rests with how Limbaugh ignores the fact that Silver has predicted Republican losses many times – yet Limbaugh has attacked that information as being “liberally biased.”  Now here he sits, defending him because the information presented favors the GOP.

My belief is that this information from Silver shouldn’t bring down liberals, it should open their eyes.  That’s what’s making me so angry with liberals right now is that so many are whining about his information.  We shouldn’t be disheartened by it, we should be motivated by it.  We should make damn sure come this November that Republicans have no chance at retaking the Senate.

There are still months to go before November.  The information he’s presented now can be acted on and changed if liberals get out there, stay motivated and vote.  We control what happens this November, not Nate Silver.
