While I’ve dealt with several online, I’ve never actually met someone face to face who voted for Michele Bachmann. But one of these days I really want to. I need to see firsthand the type of individual who would actually vote for this clown. Because while there are worse politicians (though not by much), she’s easily one of the most ridiculous elected officials I’ve ever witnessed.
Take for instance her recent comments she made on CNN where she called child immigrants “invaders,” then proceeded to use rape and vehicular manslaughter to stir up fear of immigrants.
“Foreign nationals that have come into the United States are between 300 – 500,000,” Bachmann said. “My heart is broken for a female college student in Minnesota who was raped, murdered and mutilated by a foreign national who came into our country. We had a school bus full of kids in Minnesota. Four children were killed on that school bus because an illegal alien driving a van went into that school bus.”
“My tears are crying for the family members who lost four little children on a school bus in Minnesota,” Bachmann continued.
So I guess to Michele Bachmann, rape is more acceptable if committed by an American citizen? And I guess no children ever die in car accidents due to the negligence of American drivers?
Or are those crimes less tragic when American citizens commit them?
Honestly, I have no damn idea what the point of these comments were.
No, I take that back. I know why she said them. To the typical conservative who reacts based on what they hear, without thinking about what it actually means, these comments are indeed “alarming” and “terrifying.”
“How dare these illegal immigrants come to this country and commit such heinous crimes!”
Which, granted, does sound terrifying – if you’re someone who lacks the ability to think for themselves. But when you really think about what she said, it doesn’t make any sense.
First, the vast majority of illegal immigrants (or immigrants in general) aren’t criminals. For her to try to paint immigrants as uncontrollable violent criminals is absolutely disgusting.
Second, the hypocrisy of someone who’s an avid gun rights supporter to cite 4 deaths as a reason to come down harder on immigration is astounding. Around 9,000 people die each year due to gun violence. And you know what Bachmann thinks we need more of? Guns.
And her “tears are crying” for the families of the victims? Please. Twenty-six people died at Sandy Hook Elementary, yet people like her think we need more guns in this country with fewer regulations.
Michele Bachmann is an absolute embarrassment to this country. Her last day in Congress can’t come soon enough, though I doubt she’ll be out of work for long. Her level of ignorance, hate and vile stupidity are exactly the kind of “talent” that guarantees her future employment at Fox News.
