Morning Joe Hilariously Mocks Trump’s Unhinged Obama Obsession (Video)

You know we’re living in strange times when MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” Joe Scarborough seems like a rational moderate when compared to today’s Republican Party. Especially when you consider that, not too long ago, Scarborough had a little bit of a “bromance” with Trump. That was before his behavior became indefensible even for the former Republican congressman.

Well, on Monday morning, Scarborough tore into Trump for one of the dumbest things he’s said (which is saying a lot), when he admitted that he called Trumpcare, the very health care bill he said he supports — “mean.”

“That is incredible,” Scarborough said. “First of all, Republican senators and House members — fighting for their political lives, trying to figure out what to do, and just because Donald Trump is so, so crazy and so jealous of Barack Obama, he gets him to admit that the health care bill is mean.”

Scarborough then brutally mocked Trump’s incompetence, saying he fell for Obama’s “Jedi mind trick” by trying to take credit for calling the bill he has publicly supported “mean” after it was brought to his attention that the former president had recently referred to the bill as “mean.” The Morning Joe host pointed out how Trump’s obsession with his predecessor is so out-of-control that he actually criticized a bill that he publicly endorsed just to suggest that Obama stole the term “mean” from him.

“Think how damaging this is,” he quipped. “We joke about it, but what is the impact of the president doubling down on the House bill where they had their party in the beer gardens and now he’s saying it’s mean. What’s the impact?”

That is exactly right. It’s mind-boggling to watch what’s going on right now.

We’re looking at a situation where the “president” celebrated the House passing their version of the health care bill just a few weeks ago. Meanwhile, Senate Republicans did everything they could to keep the details of their plan secret for as long as possible. However, when you get right down to it, they’re both essentially the same disastrous bill with a few minor differences. Though both bills still:

  • Will raise premiums.
  • Gut Medicaid.
  • Will strip health care from over 20 million Americans.
  • Drastically reduce health care costs for Americans 50 and older.
  • Removes most of the protections for people with pre-existing conditions.
  • Will lead to people dying who shouldn’t.
  • Are nothing more than massive tax breaks for the rich disguised as a “health care bill.”

All the while, Trump’s lashing out at Democrats for being “obstructionists” because even some members of his own party won’t support either the House or the Senate’s version of this bill — while he just publicly said that he feels the current GOP plan for health care is “mean.”

It’s hard for me to wrap my mind around the fact that this is all actually happening. I’ve never seen anything like this. Our so-called “president” is calling legislation “mean,” while simultaneously supporting it — as he also lashes out at Democrats for “obstructing” it — even though it’s his own party that’s standing in the way of passing it.

This is absolute insanity.

How all of this ends is anybody’s guess, I just hope that when the midterms come around next year, Americans remember what a laughing stock Donald Trump’s Republican Party has turned this country into.

I know it’s just a typo but it should be corrected – the bullet pointed list indicates Americans 50 and older will experience a reduction in the cost of their care.
