I’ll give you a quick summary of what they typically are. First let’s make cuts to just about every program that helps Americans get things like food, medicine or an education. Second, it’s filled with the typical Republican tax cuts for the rich. Then it usually aims to destroy just about every government program (like Medicare and Social Security) that millions of Americans rely on. Toss in expanding drilling to benefit big oil, protections for big defense contracts and a repeal of Obamacare and you have pretty much every budget Ryan has ever proposed.
Basically his budgets are the typical Republican attempts to gut programs that benefit most Americans, provide tax cuts for the rich, protect big oil and defense all while pushing to repeal Obamacare.
These budgets are never meant to be passed into law because they stand absolutely no shot at passing the Senate and damn sure wouldn’t be signed by the president.
But his most recent budget takes his hypocrisy a step further by including savings that have been provided by provisions in Obamacare, while simultaneously calling for its repeal. I’ll say that again. Paul Ryan’s budget factors in savings that are dependent upon the very same health care law that he seeks to repeal.
You really can’t make this stuff up.
Paul Ryan is an absolute scumbag and a massive hypocrite. His disdain for the poor is prevalent in everything that he supports. His budgets are nothing more than attempts to strip any kind of government protections average Americans have in this country while solidifying protections big business gets from that very same government.
These cuts to government programs are especially hypocritical when you consider that Ryan used Social Security benefits following his father’s death to help pay for his education (which he received from a public school which has taxpayer subsidized tuition) and has made a career out of working for the government. It’s absolutely hypocritical for someone who’s life has been funded by the taxpayers to seem so eager to slash some of these benefits for others claiming we “can’t afford them.” Though he does feel that we can afford big defense contracts and oil subsidies.
His budgets should really come with a bold label on the front of them that says, “This budget was sponsored by the Koch brothers and big business.” You know, like NASCAR drivers have on their cars.
It’s just absolutely pathetic that within his budget he keeps some of the fiscal savings Obamacare provides, while still calling for its full repeal. But then again, when aren’t Republicans complete hypocrites? Especially the weasel Paul Ryan.
