Rand Paul Has Twitter Meltdown After Hillary Clinton Announces She’s Running For President

rand_paulIf there’s anyone who defines the term “not ready for prime time,” it’s Sen. Rand Paul. While he has the most lofty of ambitions, it’s painfully obvious that this guy has no business running for president. Then again, that’s what happens when someone gets to where they are in life not based upon their own hard work, but because they rode the coattails of their father’s success – which is exactly what Rand Paul has done.

Since he officially announced he was running for president, it’s been one gaffe after another. First, his website spelled “education” wrong right off bat in the section discussing his plans for education. Then he snapped at a female reporter who asked him very basic questions about several issues that he’s changed his position on over the years. Well, now in what I’m calling a complete meltdown, Paul made a fool out of himself going on and on about Hillary Clinton on his Twitter account.

As I’m writing this, which is roughly 12 hours after Hillary Clinton officially announced that she was running for president, Paul had sent out 28 anti-Hillary tweets

Here are a few of them:

(Yes, he actually purchased his own anti-Hillary website.)

He also went on to say that the “scandals” Republicans have unsuccessfully been trying to get people to care about for years should disqualify her from becoming president.

First, let me address the elephant in the room: Rand Paul isn’t currently running against Hillary Clinton.

Right now Paul should be far more concerned with Jeb Bush or Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker than Hillary Clinton. Hell, right now Paul should just worry about not finishing in 5th place behind Sen. Ted Cruz before he even starts worrying about defeating Bush or Walker. It is completely absurd that Paul is behaving as if he’s already running against Clinton in the general election when he’s not even a leading candidate to win his own party’s nomination.

Then again, Paul has always seemed to have some sort of sick obsession with Hillary. It was just over a year ago that he pathetically tried to use the Monica Lewinsky scandal in a bizarre attack against her. Paul’s odd attempt to bring up something that didn’t even involve her was so ridiculous that even rabid anti-Hillary Clinton advocate Karl Rove called him out for acting like a fool.

It’s one thing to have a couple of negative comments about a potential rival in a general election that’s still a very long way away just after they formally announce their candidacy – but it’s quite another to have what was tantamount to a complete meltdown on Twitter following what was a low-key – and expected – presidential announcement.
