The Republican Party Continues its Descent into the Deepest Depths of Stupidity

bobby-jindal1I really don’t like using the word “stupid” very often because it’s just not a “professional” sounding word to use when trying to make a point.  But when it comes to the modern-day Republican party, stupidity is often the first word that comes to my mind when I hear these people speak.

It’s people who deny climate change despite the fact that the vast majority of the world’s scientists agree that humans are causing climate change.  Decades from now (and hopefully by then it won’t be too late) we’re going to look back on these people who denied climate change the same way we do people who think the moon landing was a hoax.

Oh, but during winter it’s cold outside, so that proves climate change isn’t real.  Yes, that’s about the extent of their “science” behind why they don’t believe in climate change.

Here’s a quick quiz: The Republican party opposes mass public transit systems being built in the United States, green energy initiatives, fuel-efficient standards on vehicles and the science of climate change.  What industry stands to gain the most by the GOP opposing all of those things?

If you guessed the oil industry, you would be correct.

It’s amazing to me how conservative voters never notice that almost every policy relating to energy Republicans either support or oppose almost always favors big oils interests.

Then there’s these open carry lunatics parading around towns with their loaded semi-automatic rifles.  What the hell are they trying to prove, how paranoid they are?

And just for the record, a handgun is much more practical for unexpected self-defense than a rifle strapped to your back – geniuses.  Not only that, by openly displaying your firearm you’re becoming the first target for any potential shooter.  Because guess who that shooter will target first?  Most likely the person who definitely has a gun.

Or maybe some felon couldn’t get a gun at all – but they do have a knife.  While they contemplate how to get a gun, they happen to see someone with an AR-15 strapped to their back walking around on the street.  They casually walk up behind this person who’s openly displaying their weapon, stab them from behind and take theirs.

You really have to be a special kind of stupid to believe that in 2014, in a modern society, we should be openly displaying firearms on our streets like it’s the 1800’s or we’re living in Somalia.

It’s no wonder these people don’t believe in evolution – they haven’t evolved in over 100 years.

Speaking of evolution, if you really believe the Earth is only 6,000 years old, dinosaurs and humans roamed the planet together and that a 400-year-old man built a giant ark that housed every animal on the planet – you’re insane.

I’m a Christian but those “beliefs” are absolute nonsense, because I also trust in something else these people ignore – science.

And wow, Republicans are really acting outraged over the latest VA scandal.  After all, it’s all Obama’s fault, right?  Funny how they never mention in their “outrage” that in February Republicans blocked a bill aimed at providing expanded health care and education benefits for veterans.  They also seem to have forgotten about the 80’s when the Reagan administration denied veteran claims that “agent orange” used during the Vietnam War had led to cancer and other illnesses.  Republicans also seem to have forgotten that in 2007, under Bush, the Walter Reed hospital was wrapped up in a similar scandal like we’re seeing now.

Oh, by the way, which party was it that sent all these troops to war in the first place?  That’s right – it was George W. Bush and his fellow Republicans.  Not only that, they sent thousands of our troops into Afghanistan and Iraq without properly armored vehicles.

It’s all just so utterly ridiculous.  And the worst part is, Republican stupidity only seems to be getting worse ahead of these extremely important midterm elections.

As much as I agree with the writer the stupidity of the GOP is a winning strategy. With Nate Silver predicting that the GOP will retake the Senate why should they change? As a political party their first and foremost goal is to gain power and being the party of stupid works spectacularly with a wide variety of voters from poor rural people to M.D.’s.

perhaps 2014 will be what U say; maybe not——— however the slow turning of the battleship ” American equal rights” is truly moving us in the right direction: even with the best efforts to quagmire such a move; by the white trash religious regressive scumbags on the right

Please refrain from using the phrase “white trash religious regressive scumbags” you sound no different from those on the right that call Obama a communist or Nazi or some asinine hybrid of the two. Argue about the policy that the person supports but never stoop so low to attack the person individually. You’re no different from the right mentally if you employ a common tactic from their modern playbook.
