Republican Sen. Joni Ernst Says President Obama Used Murdered Marines to Distract From Iran Deal

In politics, Democrats and Republicans rarely agree. Negative political attacks between the two parties is nothing new. But what we’ve seen from Republicans as it pertains to President Obama has been flat-out disgusting.

To hear many members of the GOP talk, you’d think this president was one of the most diabolic and evil human beings who’s ever lived. Hell, they’ve compared his desire to give every American access to health care to Nazi Germany and slavery.

The hyperbole has been so ridiculous that I’ve lost all ability to take most of them seriously. There really doesn’t seem to be a low to which many of these Republicans won’t sink when it comes to trying to fear-monger against and attack President Obama.

Case in point, Sen. Joni Ernst (R-IA) who recently suggested the made up “flag controversy” concerning the lowering of our flags following the tragic death of 5 Marines was really a plot orchestrated by the Obama administration to distract Americans from the Iran deal.

“I think there’s something else going on because I think he wants us talking about that and not the other thing, whatever the other thing might be,” Ernst said during a recent radio interview.

“I do think that there are so many things going on right now that he doesn’t want us talking about, whether it is the fact that terrorism remains, whether it is the agreement with Iran,” she continued. “I think there are so many things that he would just rather he don’t discuss and focus on something else.”

Yes, that’s a sitting Republican senator suggesting that President Obama apparently collaborated with right-wing media sources (since they’re the ones who pushed this idiocy in the first place) to get conservatives worked up about this made-up controversy over the lowering of the flags following the deaths of these five Marines just so that he could distract the American people from the Iran deal.

In other words, she’s suggesting that when the president heard about this shooting, he rubbed his hands together, gave off some sort of evil laugh and thought to himself: Perfect! I know what I’ll do. I’m going to not lower the flags right away knowing that conservatives will seize on that “story,” distracting the American people from my scheme with the Iranians to become the world’s dictator! Buwhahahah.

Okay, so maybe that’s a bit over-the-top, but that’s honestly what I feel like she was trying to say.

Hell, I’m shocked she didn’t try to imply that Donald Trump’s foolishness is also a scheme by the president to distract Americans.

Then again, this sort of rhetoric from Ernst shouldn’t really be shocking. After all, this is a woman who used her history of castrating pigs as a part of her election strategy during her campaign. But her comments just serve as yet another example that when it comes to bashing President Obama, there really isn’t a level to which Republicans will not stoop.

Even if that means suggesting he’s using the tragic death of five Marines for his own political ambitions.

Ms Ernst is probably in her backyard right now with fans and bleach trying to get rid of the chemtrails over her house, because it’s all a giant conspiracy to control her mind. I wonder if she decorates her whole house in tinfoil or just her bedroom.

Did you ever wonder what kind of intellectual dwarf would have voted for this immoral cretin?

    How vapid is her constituency?

    • MarcoZandrini

Maybe she and The Donald could run as 3rd party candidates for Prez and VP!

      • KCP

They both have about the same mentality.

    • SophieCT

And what kinds of Dems stayed home and let those intellectual dwarves win because their candidate wasn’t exactly what they wanted?

      • cravin moorehead

        You don’t get it.

If every single Democrat would have voted, IT STILL WOULDN’T HAVE MATTERED!

There are an overwhelming number of republican dolts that live in Iowa.

Remember, “They’re gona [sic] pull the plug on granmaw [very sic]”? Remember THAT gem?

      • SophieCT

Are you saying every Democrat voted? Because the Senator before her was a Democrat. But yeah, I don’t get it.

      • cravin moorehead

Gosh. You sound like a republican or an Iowan.

The FIRST word in the sentence is, “IF”, and the fifths word is, “WOULD.”

And, no, every single Democrat probably did not vote.

So, they became a part of the vapid constituency.

      • SophieCT

What part of my comment even remotely suggested Iowan or Republican? How come you can’t just admit you may not have all the answers? No, you have to call me names. This is why we lose. People like you. Not smart and very mouthy.

      • cravin moorehead

If I misinterpreted your post, I sincerely apologize.

However, that being said, Independents and Democrats aren’t mouthy enough.

That’s the reason that Nixon didn’t get indicted for Watergate, Reagan didn’t get incited for negotiating with Iran to hold hostages until after our elections, or the Iran Contra Affair.

And we now have silence while Bush/Cheney get off scott free after lying us into war and outing covert CIA agents.

The time for NOT being “mouthy” is over.

Sophie, is not a Republican, reread her comments, she is just amazed as you are that this low life ignoramus was elected. We have to step up next election and not let one Republican remain in office. Fighting among ourselves is not going to get the job done.

      • cravin moorehead

If this is a case of my misinterpretation of her remark, I stand corrected and apologize.

On the other hand, if my initial reading was correct, I stand by my remarks.

voting is not going to change anything.

  • Nancy B

This “controversy” was just another bright and shiny object meant to distract, as Obama aptly put it during the Stewart interview. But so clearly not by Obama, that her statement is ludicrous. It definitely was one of the right wing causes du jour.

  • Allahu Akbar!

All I know is that Congress is going to shitcan that crappy deal then override Obamas Veto.

    • noah vail

that’s what you “know”? you fucking cretin, you don’t “know” a damn thing…you just guess and pray and hope someone will buy your bullshit

    • Creeayshun Sighuntist

how much do you get paid per post?

    • Robin518

That probably is all you know. And you’re still wrong. So you don’t know sh*t.

    • KCP

Gee, you are so precious, you almost made me believe your comment, then I woke up and realized I was in reality, you were nothing but someones nightmare and that you are an idiot. Now run to mommy because someone hurt your wittle feelings and you peed in your panties.

  • Eg Kbbs

    OK! OK! I admit it!

Up to now, I’ve given Ernst the benefit of the doubt (that she is a rapid right-winger and totally dingbat but at least honest and at least on the boundary of being sane – but someone who I strongly disagree with).

Seeing the claim that Obama collaborated with right-wing media has completely shown me to be wrong.

This is so preposterous. No way she could come up with this and be both honest and sane.
