Ted Cruz Makes A Fool Out Of Himself During Interview with Fox News’ Megyn Kelly (Video)

megyn-kelly-ted-cruz-immigrationDuring his short time in the Senate, Ted Cruz has proven himself to be an absolute joke. It baffles me that there are millions of people in this country who actually take this clown seriously. Not only is he one of the most ridiculous politicians we have in this country, but almost nothing he says is actually true.

It really shouldn’t come as a shock that when Cruz went on The Kelly File last night on Fox News, he made an absolute fool out of himself. It started with Megyn Kelly asking him if he would deport American citizens born to illegal immigrants, like Donald Trump said he would do.

“Do American citizen children of two illegal immigrants get deported under a President Cruz?,” Kelly asked.

After saying he didn’t want to “play her game” – because apparently asking a serious policy question that has major implications on the lives of millions of Americans (as well as our Constitution) is unreasonable to Cruz – he finally tried to blame her question on the “liberal” mainstream media.

No, seriously…

“I get that’s the question you want to ask,” Cruz responded. “That’s also the question every mainstream media liberal journalist wants to ask.”

I would think any credible journalist would want to ask a presidential candidate whether or not they would support deporting millions of American citizens. I have no idea how any sane person could see Kelly’s question as some sort of “gotcha liberal media” ploy against Republicans. The GOP is the party that has several of its candidates coming out against birthright citizenship, so all she was doing was asking Cruz to clarify his stance on an issue that’s been at the forefront of his party for the last few weeks.

So, being that Cruz apparently felt she was playing some sort of “game,” Kelly flat-out asked him if he thought it was an unfair question, pressing him on the fact that he seemed to be purposely avoiding giving her a simple yes or no answer.

His response was exactly what you would expect from Cruz – just a list of talking points that had nothing to do with whether or not he, like Trump, would call for the deportation of millions of American citizens who were born to illegal immigrants.

Cruz once again came off looking ill-prepared and like someone who has no business running for president. While I’m sure his supporters would disagree, I think most rational people would agree that he absolutely embarrassed himself during this interview. Even Kelly chuckled a couple of times listening to Cruz try to dance around and make excuses for why he wouldn’t answer her very simple line of questioning.

I really think we need to make a rule that says if you’re a Republican who can’t even handle an interview on Fox News, you should be banned from running for public office.

Or he was trying to play Trump’s game. Let’s see, exact same woman. She asks a reasonable question which he dodges because he won’t play her game. If he’s lucky (which he probably won’t be) everyone will start talking about it and his numbers go up!

I think you hit the nail right on the head. Trump showed them a new way to avoid answering “difficult” (in other words, appropriate) questions. Cruz had to try it out. I think Cruz is trying to position him as the next best thing for when Trump backs out.

So does Kelly get another vacation now, so she can rethink this new liberal media ploy of asking journalistic questions?

      • Jillz

I don’t think so, it was only Ted Cruz, after all!

we should all celebrate the 1st time a GOP nominee answers a direct question with a direct answer.
In the stand, a lawyers dream or nightmare. ‘it’s a yes or no question sir’…lol

yes or no please, yeah, i can relate – frustrating

Under the current Supreme Court interpretation of the 14th Amendment, children born in the US to alien (alien is the legal term meaning non-citizens) parents are citizens even if they are foreign subjects and only subject to limited US jurisdiction (Their parents stop at stop signs although they cannot vote here, be drafted, pay into medicare, etc.). Cruz should have just answered her question with a discourse of the wisdom, or lack thereof, of swelling our population by another 350-400,000 annually with foreign children and keeping this incentive for birth tourism. He should instead have detailed his plan, if any, to end this instead of criticizing the question. Meanwhile, children born here to most aliens are US citizens and there is no basis for revoking their citizenship. They will be grandfathered in.

But that would have required some thought and intelligence.

For eight uninterrupted years, the Bush administration answered every single question with spin. Spin, spin, spin, and more spin. Trump, and now Cruz, are simply carrying on a tradition. Being expected to answer a direct question honestly, is something only required of Democrats.

At least Trump has some addressable gibberish in his “white paper policy position” on immigration. Should Cruz issue a white paper on anything, how could it be anything but a true white paper, a blank sheet. In many ways he is totally a child of religion, he only knows how to characterize himself in opposition.

      • MarcoZandrini

Yeah, but his aides fished his “white paper” out of toilet bowl.

The greatest flaw in democracy is totally uninformed people are allowed to vote

    • LLCisyouandme

The greatest flaw is that totally uninformed people are allowed to run.

What amazes me is that you people would believe that a politician would do anything but play politics (POLI-multiple/TICS-bloodsucking creatures).
