If people think the 2016 election has been an absolute circus, just wait. Come November 8th, either Donald Trump is going to become president, at which point he’ll spend at least the next four years embarrassing this country in ways we can’t even imagine — or he’s going to lose, at which point he’s likely going to build himself a conservative propaganda empire that he’ll use as his own “political weapon” to go after and slander practically anyone he feels like.
No matter what happens, Trump is going to be a headache for every rational and sane American for a very long time.
For a glimpse of what I’m talking about look no further than his behavior since the first presidential debate. From 3 a.m. Twitter tirades where he tried to slander a woman by accusing her of having a sex tape that doesn’t exist, to his admission at the second debate that he’s running to be our nation’s first authoritarian dictator, Trump has been in a full-on meltdown over the last couple of weeks.
Especially following the 2005 video that surfaced where he glorified sexually assaulting women and bragged about trying to have an affair with a married woman.
I think at this point he’s basically given up trying to become president. Instead, he’s going to use the next few weeks to solidify his base, energize his supporters and set the stage for his post-election plans to make a whole lot of money by pushing lies, propaganda and conspiracies like he’s done throughout most of his campaign.
For further proof of this, look no further than a speech he gave on Thursday where he went on an unhinged, incoherent rant that could have been written by any “new world order/global conspiracy theorist” we all used to mock and make fun of — but have now taken over a good portion of the Republican party.
Here are a few excerpts Talking Points Memo highlighted:
There is nothing the political establishment will not do, no lie that they won’t tell to hold their prestige and power at your expense. And that’s what has been happening. The Washington establishment, and the financial and media corporations that fund it, exist for only one reason, to protect and enrich itself. The establishment has trillions of dollars at stake in this election.
It is a global power structure that is responsible for the economic decisions that have robbed our working class, stripped our country of its wealth and put the money in the pockets of a handful of large corporations and political entities. Just look at what the corrupt establishment has done to our cities like Detroit, Flint, Michigan and rural towns in Pennsylvania, Ohio, North Carolina, and all cross our country. Take a look at what is going on. They’ve stripped away the towns bare and raided the wealth for themselves and taken our jobs away, out of our country, never to return unless I’m elected president.
The Clinton machine is at the center of this power structure. We have seen this in the WikiLeaks documents in which Hillary Clinton meets in secret with international banks to plot the destruction of U.S. sovereignty in order to enrich these global financial powers, her special interest friends, and her donors.
The most powerful weapon deployed by the Clintons is the corporate media: the press. Let’s be clear on one thing, the corporate media in our country is no longer involved in journalism. They’re a political special interest, no different than any lobbyist or any other financial entity with a total political agenda and the agenda is not for you, it’s for themselves.
Their agenda is to elect crooked Hillary Clinton at any costs, at any price, no matter how many lives they destroy. For them, it’s a war. And for them, nothing at all is out of bounds. This is a struggle for the survival of our nation. Believe me. And this will be our last chance to save it.
In one rant he’s basically accusing the government, the media and the “global power structure” of being some massive conspiracy that only he has the power to fix.
First, that’s completely insane. A good rule to follow is to never — ever support or believe anyone who claims that they’re the only person who can fix whatever problem(s) they claim exist. That’s a tell-tale sign of a con man/dictator who’s using fear to manipulate voters.
Oh, and for the record, no, WikiLeaks did not show Clinton meeting with secret international banks to “plot the destruction of U.S. sovereignty.” You really do need to be insane to believe that. Then again, when you’re someone who’s built an entire campaign upon literally just making stuff up, clearly those supporting you couldn’t care less about facts.
This tantrum was nothing but the continuation of Trump’s meltdown as he’s finally experiencing the true scrutiny he had avoided throughout most of his campaign. So, he can keep playing up this “the media is helping Clinton” nonsense all he wants, but the only people buying that load of crap are people who are dumb enough to support him already.
Furthermore, the hypocrisy of all of this is what’s so astounding. On one hand, he’s wanting the media to give more attention to women who’ve accused Bill Clinton of sexual misconduct — even though we went through all of this in the 90’s. Yet on the other hand, he’s threatening to sue media outlets reporting on women who’ve now accused him of sexual harassment and assault.
It’s actually kind of hilarious to see Trump and his campaign continue to try to make Bill Clinton’s sexual past an issue to use against his wife, while threatening to sue media outlets reporting about claims against him for sexual misconduct. It’s going to be much more difficult for Trump to fake caring about women who claim they’ve been victims of sexual assault like he’s been doing with Bill Clinton’s alleged victims, while publicly attacking and trashing women who are accusing him of non-consensual sexual groping and harassment.
Then on top of all of that, I’m almost certain Trump knows there are other videos that could get leaked which probably show him saying things that might be even worse than what he said in 2005. At this point, I don’t even know what to expect besides chaos over the next few weeks.
With the final debate approaching, and Election Day nearly here, Donald Trump seems more unhinged and unpredictable than he’s ever been before. That’s definitely saying something considering the type of person he is and campaign he’s run.
