While it should come as no surprise to anyone reading this, Donald Trump just defended alleged child molester Roy Moore and basically endorsed him for the United States Senate.
During remarks made to the press outside the White House, Trump threw his support behind Moore’s campaign, saying “we don’t need a liberal Democrat in that seat”; attacked Democratic nominee Doug Jones for being “soft” on crime and immigration; and mentioned that the disgraced GOP senate candidate “totally denies” the allegations against him, saying that “40 years is a long time ago.” He also mentioned that Moore has held public office for many years and these allegations have “never come up.”
While he never outright said the words “I endorse Roy Moore,” based on his words today, it’s obvious he thinks Moore should be our country’s next senator. This was simply Trump’s cowardly way to endorse Moore without going on record as “officially” endorsing him.
Make no mistake about it, this was an endorsement by Donald Trump of Roy Moore.
So, everyone be sure to mark November 21, 2017 as the day a current “President” of the United States endorsed and defended a man accused by multiple women of sexually assaulting children.
I guess Republicans embracing a self-admitted sexual predator accused by at least 16 women of sexual harassment and/or assault wasn’t enough low enough. It seems the GOP wants to prove that it can go even lower by trying to elect a man who allegedly sexually abused underage females as young as 14.
I’d like to point out that this is the same Republican Party that likes to paint itself as the “party for the moral majority,” “family values,” and “Christianity” that, in just a few weeks, could very well be represented by a self-admitted sexual predator and a man accused of stalking and/or molesting multiple underage females while he was in his 30’s.
Someone asked me recently if I felt that Republicans would elect Adolf Hitler if he were alive today and ran as a Republican. I answered them with the following tweet:
Do I think if Adolf Hitler were alive and ran for office as a Republican he’d get at least 35-45% of the conservative vote?

While I know that might sound over-the-top, I no longer feel that it is.
Based on what I’ve seen and heard (especially over the last few years), in the minds of many conservatives, they would vote for anyone — even Satan himself — before they would vote for a Democrat. More than any other villain or enemy imaginable, even ISIS, millions of conservatives see Democrats as the biggest threat to this country. That’s how brainwashed many of them are.
So if they have to defend and support a man accused of stalking and sexually abusing females as young as 14, then they’re fine with that just as long as they win and a Democrat loses.
This is another day history will look back on with shame and disgust. I’m mortified by what the GOP is doing to this country.
