Trump’s Latest Directive Further Cements His Place as the Most Ignorant President in History

It’s clear that the “strategy” for the modern day Republican Party has been to act like things such as facts, reality, and science don’t actually exist, that way it’s easier for them to perpetuate their lies, propaganda, and delusional version of reality.

You’ve seen this in the past as it relates to climate change, such as when Florida Governor Rick Scott banned government officials from using the phrases “climate change” and “global warming” when discussing the impacts of — climate change and global warming.

Say it with me everyone, you can’t make this stuff up.

Now we have Donald Trump banning the CDC from using seven words and phrases.

As reported by the Chicago Tribune:

Trump administration officials are forbidding officials at the nation’s top public health agency from using a list of seven words or phrases – including “fetus” and “transgender” – in any official documents being prepared for next year’s budget.

Policy analysts at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta were told of the list of forbidden words at a meeting Thursday with senior CDC officials who oversee the budget, according to an analyst who took part in the 90-minute briefing. The forbidden words are: “vulnerable,” “entitlement,” “diversity,” “transgender,” “fetus,” “evidence-based” and “science-based.”

In some instances, the analysts were given alternative phrases. Instead of “science-based” or “evidence-based,” the suggested phrase is “CDC bases its recommendations on science in consideration with community standards and wishes,” the person said. In other cases, no replacement words were immediately offered.

They’re not discouraging the use of these words and phrases, nor are they pushing for alternative words or phrases to be used — they’re outright banning them.

Let that sink in for a moment.

The Center for Disease Control and Prevention is not going to be allowed to use the phrases “evidence-based” or “science-based” when talking about situations based on scientific evidence.

Then when it comes to the debate over abortion, they won’t be able to refer to a human fetus as an actual fetus.

When it comes to transgender Americans, well, you’re screwed because the CDC has no way to even talk about you anymore. This, of course, goes along with Trump’s bullshit ban on transgender Americans being allowed to serve in the military he signed a few weeks ago. Just a reminder to all the “Log Cabin Republicans” who fell for Trump’s BS:

Yeah, how’s that working out for you?

And then we have “vulnerable” and “diversity.” I’m sure it surprises nobody that a “president” who defended white supremacists and Nazis a couple of months ago doesn’t want the CDC talking about vulnerable Americans or any sort of “diversity.” But, please, tell me again how Trump and the Republican Party aren’t driven by blatant racism and bigotry.

This is insane.

I’m not going to say this is just like the Nazis burning books, but it’s in that same ballpark. This is a move by Trump and the GOP to remove the usage of words that help expose their ignorance, lies, and propaganda. That’s exactly why they don’t want these seven words used.

For all intents and purposes, the CDC is a scientifically-based organization that’s now banned from using key scientific terms to talk about extremely important issues. Furthermore, the banning of the use of several of these phrases is straight-up bigoted in its nature.

I don’t have the words to truly convey how I feel about this and everything else terrible we’ve seen since Trump was sworn into office. It really does feel as if these people wake up every day and ask themselves, “How can we be absolutely terrible in a new and innovative way today?”

It’s sickening and I’m ashamed that there are millions of Americans supporting this garbage.

As I’ve said plenty of times before, history will not forget those who were on the wrong side of it during this time.
