Trump’s Reaction to Recount Efforts is Alarming for a Reason Most Aren’t Discussing

By now most people have already heard about how Donald Trump responded to recount efforts in Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania by proclaiming that there were millions — literally millions — of people who voted illegally all over the country.

Ignoring for a moment the fact that anyone stupid enough to actually believe that clearly doesn’t have any idea how elections are carried out, or how the votes are calculated (it’s basically impossible for millions of people to have voted illegally), this buffoon is actually claiming that the election he won was filled with illegal votes.

Yes, our president-elect is so bizarrely unstable that he would go on Twitter to publicly state that an election he won was filled with millions of illegal votes. A claim that, if true, would actually be a great argument to have the results of the entire election suspended pending an extensive investigation.

Though as most sane people know, Trump’s claims are completely ridiculous. They’re nothing more than an immature reaction from an egomaniac responding to growing criticism over the fact that he’s going to become our next president even though he’s ultimately going to lose the popular vote by around 3-4 million votes.

As for the recount, honestly, it’s really a whole lot of nothing — but that doesn’t mean it’s not worth looking into. With as many controversies that have swirled around this election relating to the Russian government trying to influence it through cyber attacks, I don’t think it’s unreasonable to show extreme caution when anything shows signs that there could possibly be irregularities involved.

Ultimately this whole recount thing is going to be nothing more than one of many footnotes to the nightmare that’s going to be the Donald Trump presidency.

However, there’s one story that’s emerged from all of this that I think should scare the hell out of every single person in this country.

Since Hillary Clinton threw her support behind this recount, I’ve seen several reports suggesting that her doing so might push Trump to rethink whether or not he will push for charges against her concerning her use of a private email server while she was Secretary of State. He made the stance a pillar of his campaign, especially during the last few weeks, then he quickly backtracked on it almost immediately after the election.

While this has been talked about and mentioned by a few, it should really be a much bigger story than it is.

The decision on whether or not to prosecute someone should be based on nothing more than whether or not you believe that a legitimate crime was committed. The threat of legal prosecution damn sure shouldn’t be used by a man who’s going to be our next president as a threat against political rivals or enemies.

No one — let alone our next president — should ever use the threat of legal recourse against an opponent, critic or someone who disagrees with them on an issue. Threatening people with prosecution is not meant to be a weapon at the disposal of those who have the power to wield it — especially a president.

So, for this idea to now be floating out there that Trump might be thinking of going after Clinton because she’s backing this recount is straight out of the “How to Be a Dictator” handbook.

Then again, this is who Trump is. He’s always been an egomaniacal bully who’s used his power to go after people who anger him. This is someone who’s filed lawsuits against people out of spite. This is a petty, insecure man-child who wants everyone to bend to his will, do what he says and often goes after anyone who he feels has slighted him in any way.

And he’s just a few weeks away from being the most powerful person on the planet.

The nature of politics often brings with it a whole lot of over-the-top hyperbole, but I’m not exaggerating when I say that I’m legitimately worried of what we’re going to see over the next four years. This nation didn’t elect someone who wants to be our next president, we elected someone who wants to be our first dictator.

In the state of California, illegal immigrants are allowed to have drivers licenses. Applying for a driver’s license in CA automatically registers you to vote. There are millions upon millions of illegals in CA. Millions of illegals could potentially have voted. You’re outright lying to your readers now.

No he isn’t. There is no evidence of any widespread voter fraud. You’re making the claim that “millions of illegals could have potentially voted.” Did they? If you think they did, make your case. Otherwise you’re just another, dime a dozen, powerless, comment junkie trying to trade in conjecture and “what ifs.” This is how they got to Clinton. There was no there there and it’s the same story on this.

Either make your case and back it up or move on and let the grown ups talk.

I already made my case. Your case is “I don’t think illegals can vote despite them being allowed to do so by the state of California, so I refuse to believe they voted.” That’s called delusion.

No, Bri-bri, you made the claim that there COULD be fraudulent voting in California. Was there? Prove it. You made the assertion now defend it.

The only real delusion here is that you think you can debate. In truth, your lack of reasoning and simplistic mindset leaves you in a deplorable state. On the plus side, I took a screen shot of your “case” and shared it with some friends. Trust me when I say that no one is laughing WITH you, Bri-bri.

  • From a very reliable source: “while the new system makes it easier for citizens to register while they are already at the DMV, it is not such an automatic process that anyone who gets a driver’s license is also registered to vote. Someone seeking to obtain a driver’s license or state ID will be asked to affirm their eligibility to vote; the potential registrant’s information will then be sent electronically to the secretary of state’s office for verification of citizenship before an individual is registered. Although undocumented immigrants are eligible for driver’s licenses in California, the process for receiving a license is not exactly the same as for a citizen, and the license is for driving privileges only and states so clearly on the card. Since undocumented immigrants have to provide different paperwork when applying for a license, it is very obvious that they are not citizens, and they will not be offered the opportunity to register to vote.”
