While Donald Trump might be called president-elect, that’s really not what he is. Sure, he’s going to be called our next president – but he’s an absolute joke. He’s about as credible as a “Coach” purse you’d buy at a flea market for $15.
Can we at least make it a rule that someone can’t call themselves anything but a con artist if their entire political campaign was built on nothing but pure (excuse my language) bullshit? Because that’s all Trump’s campaign was – one lie after another after another after another. But it’s not just that he lies – after all, all politicians lie. It’s that he doesn’t seem to care, at all, about what is or isn’t real.
This is someone who’s denied saying something that he had recorded himself saying in a video; claimed that there were “thousands and thousands” of Muslims celebrating 9/11 in the streets of New Jersey (when that absolutely did not happen); and literally just seems to change his mind on any number of issues whenever he feels like it.
And it does not matter one damn bit to most of his supporters.
If you call him out on a lie, he’ll typically call you the liar – then lie some more. He’s completely impervious to being “fact checked” but he doesn’t operate in a reality where facts matter. Even during the GOP debates when pretty much everyone at the event factually pointed out that his math on Social Security (his “waste, fraud and abuse” line) was a joke – he just kept pushing it.
I’ve never seen anything like it.
This is someone who literally promotes violence at his rallies, suggesting he would like to “punch” some protesters in the face – then denies that his rhetoric has anything to do with the increasing violence at these events.
If facts don’t matter, and reality is inconsequential, then you’re not a president – you’re a cult leader.
But Donald Trump isn’t just a cult leader… he’s a fascist cult leader.
I don’t like throwing around “Hitler” references, but if the shoe fits. We are witnessing the closest thing any of us has ever seen to an flat-out fascist becoming our nation’s next president.
This went from being a slightly entertaining joke, to a terrifying reality.
Donald Trump doesn’t want to be president – he wants to be a dictator. Hell, he’s already proposed banning all Muslims, while suggesting we track the Muslims that are already here. He’s repeatedly said he’ll use blatant threats to try to get what he wants and says he would try to censor the press – a huge violation of the First Amendment. To say nothing about the fact he’s advocated committing war crimes and praised totalitarian dictators.
During a debate, he called the Chinese government’s response in Tiananmen Square in 1989 “strong.” You know, the horrific tragedy that led to the deaths of somewhere between a few hundred to a few thousand people.
He’s not a war hero. He was a war hero because he was captured. I like people who weren’t captured.
Just think about this for a moment. Right now, Republicans elected a man who’s praised the Chinese government killing people, spoken highly of Russian President Vladimir Putin and mocked a legitimate American war hero.
That’s a disgrace.
Donald Trump supporters aren’t patriots. Hell, I wish I didn’t have to call them Americans. They’re bottom-feeders – the worst parts of our society. Millions of people who claim to love America, but clearly hate most Americans.
Donald Trump will never be viewed as a legitimate president. Instead, most should view him as a fascist leader of his own cult who’s trying to become this nation’s first totalitarian dictator. He’s someone who built a campaign on propaganda, fueled it with lies, all while preying on people’s fear and anger to galvanize their ignorance for his benefit.
And it’s a damn embarrassment that millions of Americans blindly support every vile thing he says.
