Warren Buffett Has Given Conservatives 1.2 Billion Reasons To Lose Their Minds

warren-buffettWhile I often talk about issues that are currently going on and add my own personal perspective to them, sometimes a story comes along that I just have to write about because I know it will send conservatives into unintelligible tirades.

Now I’m sure most conservatives already aren’t fans of multibillionaire Warren Buffett.  He’s become fairly well known in political circles for pointing out the stupidity of most Republican economic policies.

But if they didn’t think he was a “filthy America-hating liberal” before, they sure as hell will now.

It seems Warren Buffett is quite the fan of supporting women’s rights and our Constitution.  In fact, he’s donated $1.2 billion to various pro-choice groups.  And while Buffett has never publicly stated his views on abortion, I don’t think it’s too difficult to connect the dots on where he stands when it comes to protecting the constitutionally upheld rights of women to have control over their own bodies.

In fact, since 2001, he’s given $290 million to Planned Parenthood alone.  The Susan Thompson Buffett Foundation, which is named after his first wife who campaigned heavily for women’s rights, was naturally one of the larger beneficiaries of Buffett’s donations as well.

I can already hear conservatives screaming, “Warren Buffett is a baby murderer!”  Because, you know, that’s all these women’s rights advocacy groups focus on.  I don’t even know why it’s called Planned Parenthood.  It should really just be called “We Give Abortions.”  Because that’s all they do, right?

Well, that’s what you would believe if all you listened to was typical conservative ignorance about what Planned Parenthood does.  It’s amazing to me just how ignorant so many conservatives are when it comes to these groups and what exactly it is that they do.  All they can focus on is abortion, while ignoring the other vital research and services focused on women’s health that they provide.  In fact, only 3% of everything Planned Parenthood provides is related to abortions.

But for those of us who understand that women have been given the constitutional right to have control over their own bodies, we should all applaud Buffett for his efforts to help these groups fight for women’s rights and provide the health services that women need.

Now don’t be crude to a heart that’s prude. In other words, don’t assume that only the intellectually impoverished are idiots. There are plenty of six figure idiots out there.

even the bible says Life begins at first breath.. basically outside the womb.. i guess they didn’t get that memo or like most things in the bible that goes against other things in the bible and the bible is filled with contradiction. they only believe parts of it

Planned Parenthood, as the name implies, means that they want to assist you in planning your parenthood so that you don’t have unwanted pregnancies.

That’s not all. From their web site they provide healthcare for both men and women, check for breast, testicular, and ovarian cancer, treat hormonal imbalances, treat sexual diseases, get rid of intestinal parasites? (didn’t know that one), prenatal care, infertility, menopause, and other procedures.

And as Colbert has pointed out in multiple interviews, if you’re rich it means that you’re right.

He is the rare combination of an honorable man with the luxury of not having to answer to anyone but his own conscience
